Quickbooks Desktop

Good afternoon, we have a client who has moved from Desktop to Cloud, but as they had so much historical data, they were granted read-only permission to view historical data they had. This has access has recently been denied them, so they have data which they have no way of accessing. Please can you advise if this is common, and if there is a workaround? Thank you.

Hello John, no problem at all, so the customer will need to migrate out of desktop to either QuickBooks online or to another software as you only now have a short time to do this as by the end of June this year desktop for the UK will be gone. So QuickBooks have brought out and released a data export tool for our UK desktop customers so that they can view their historical data still. More information on how to use the tool will be coming out later this month for all our customers.

Hello John_ArgonIOM, Thanks for posting on the Community page, no one has been granted read only access to the product as that’s not possible. You might have been told about the read only export tool that is due to be released, but as yet this has not been released yet. You move to online and cancel your desktop subscription, this then stops the use of the desktop product.

@John_ArgonIOM

Has your client started from scratch on QBO and not converted any data from QBD?

Hi Ashleigh, thank you for your response, it is appreciated.

In that case, in the short term, what is the customer to do? At the moment they have no access whatsoever to historical data and this is causing them a major issue in their day to day functions.

How would they go about accessing this data? Is there a 'bridging' licence they could subscribe to as an interim measure?

Appreciate your help,

John

Hi Fiat Lux,

Thank you for coming back to me, sorry for the delay.

No data has been converted as yet, they, at the minute, have no access to it and we are exploring whether or not there is a tool or license which will allow this in the interim?

I appreciate you coming back, thank you.
