Just signed up to QB self employed and so disappointed with the functionality.
I am a returning QB user from when I ran a VAT registered company using QB desktop which was brilliant. I now do the accounts for my daughter's business and having started with QB self employed find that I can't even add a cash payment as there is no facility to create cash account.
I can't post bank receipts against invoices or produce a client statement.
I can't see accounts receivable.
I think this is the most useless accounting software and so surprised that QB think this is adequate.
I see in Q&As about posting cash payments references to this can be done on QB online but what is QB online? It was not in the list of products so how do you use it?
Thanks to anybody that has answers as I could have missed something.
Hi Fiat Lux
Thanks for your answer.
QB Self Employed in online and there is no product in your link called Quick Books online.
I have found navigating QB products rather confusing especially with community help which often seems to answer questions referring to a different QB product
Good day, RobRich.
I'd be delighted to provide information about QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Self-Employed.
QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Self-Employed are two different versions. The main difference between both programs is that QuickBooks Self-Employed is designed for Independent Contractors, while Simple Start is for Small Businesses.
If you're an Independent Contractor and need to separate your business and personal expenses, you can use the QBSE. Otherwise, you can use the QuickBooks Online Plus/Essentials/Simple Start.
You can check out the link below for a detailed comparisons of features available to these versions. From here, you can see which one fits your business needs: Choose your QuickBooks Online plan.
Let me also share this article for additional guidance and reference: Getting Started With QuickBooks Online.
If you need further information about the difference between QBSE and QBO, feel free to leave a response below. I'll be here anytime.
Hi LeizyIM
Thanks for your reply which clarifies the issue.
It does seem illogical to refer to some versions as QB online QB Self employed version is online hence my confusion.
Hi RobRich, we completely get the confusion with that as they are all online products - if you need any further assistance with your QBSE account, please get back to us below and we'll be happy to help. :)
