Script Error within Quickbooks Help

When starting Quickbooks it puts up the help screen, but then a pop up appears saying script error. It takes 3 attempts to clear the pop up answering yes or no (it takes either answer) Any attempt to access the community results in the same pop up appearing. Is there a simple solution to clear this irritation.

Let’s get rid of the Script Error pop-up, @David_Alison.

Message prompts like this occurs when QuickBooks tries to connect to Internet Explorer but is blocked by webpage issues. You need to configure QBDT’s default browser settings to stop it from happening.

  1. Open Internet Explorer on your desktop.
  2. Click the Tools (gear) icon, then select Internet Options.
  3. Go to the Security tab.
  4. Select Trusted sites on the box.
  5. Tap the Sites button.
  6. Enter *.intuit.com and *.lithium.com.
  7. Uncheck the Require server verification (https: ) for all sites in this zone box.
  8. Choose Add, then Close.
  9. Hit OK on the Trusted sites window to save the changes.

Once done, try launching QuickBooks again. You also have to make sure that the program is updated to the latest release to fix minor issues.

If you have any other questions or follow-ups please leave a comment. I’m always here and ready to help.

Thanks for the suggestion. I followed your instructions but the problem persists!! I updated as advised, loaded nothing new but the Disk Doctor segment gave a 12007 error. I don't know if this is a related problem?

Hi David,

could please try lowering the security levels on Internet and Local Intranet to see if this changes anything.
