I'm preparing our year end accounts but two new lines have appeared in the balance sheet that were not there last year, they are:
Called up share capital not paid just above Fixed Asset
Credit Cards just above Current Liablities.
Neither are in the chart of accounts and both are zero, is there a way of deleting them from the report.
Let me assist you in finalizing your year-end accounts and ensuring your balance sheet and accounting are accurate, Chittle.
The new lines appearing on your balance sheet are connected to the Detail Type and Account Type of specific entries in your Chart of Accounts (COA). To identify the account names associated with these lines, click on the line item directly within the report. This will provide more details about the account linked to that entry.
Adjustments to your accounts may cause these lines to appear in your Balance Sheet. I recommend checking the Audit Log to see details about who made the changes and what was updated.
To remove these lines from your Balance Sheet, you can switch to the Classic View and customise the report to display only non-zero or active accounts. Customising the report this way will hide any lines with a zero balance.
For a detailed walkthrough, here's how:
I've included screenshots for your reference:
Regarding your concern about why these two new lines are not appearing in your COA, it is because searches within the COA are based on the exact account name. Therefore, if you tried searching for "Called up share capital not paid" or "Credit Cards," they will not appear. Using the account name only will allow you to locate these accounts accurately in the COA.

Thanks for your reply, I tried your suggestion but could not remove the unwanted lines. These two lines only appear in modern view so for now I'm using the classic view to print the balance sheet although I prefer the formatting of the modern view if these two line could be removed. Also I'm concerned that Intuit will remove access to the classic view and force users to use the modern view.
Thank you for sharing your experience and feedback with us, @accounts-chittle. In the modern report viewing interface, there is currently no built-in option to remove specific lines, such as zero balance lines like 'Called up share capital not paid' or 'Credit Cards,' as you could in the standard Balance Sheet report. The modern interface displays all accounts regardless of balance for completeness.
For now, we understand that switching to the classic view allows you to customize the report as needed. While we cannot guarantee ongoing access to the classic view, consider exporting the report and using external tools, such as Excel, to filter out unwanted lines or further customize the formatting.
We value your feedback and suggest submitting your thoughts about improving the modern view report customization. You can share your ideas directly through the feedback option on your account to help us enhance the user experience.
Please let us know if you have any further questions or need assistance.
