What is the acceptable limit of transactions (I want some concrete numbers - Suppliers, Customers, Invoices, Bills, Expenses, etc etc) that QBO Plus UK, can handle without performance issues and without it slowing down?
I tested as follows -
And this is after ruling out Chrome and other issues. I am wondering what would happen to QBO database of the latter if real day to day transaction would start kicking in after opening balances / data migration? I read in some QBO post that acceptable performance is 10 seconds for every click to load a page. IF THIS IS THE CASE IT IS AN IMPENDING NIGHTMARE
Kindly reply with honest answers.

Hello, HAM9.
Allow me to chime in and answer all of jeffg123's questions.
QuickBooks Online is a web-based software that can handle up to 2 billion transactions at a time. Our engineers continually monitor our system to make sure we are meeting the goal to load the page in 10 seconds.
The performance issues mostly rely on your computer processing power, the amount of available memory (RAM), internet connection, cache, cookies, and third-party plugins. We highly recommend limiting your file size to at least 350 MB or 1000 row if you import CSV files. This eliminates certain issues when importing data in QuickBooks Online.
The status of our QuickBooks Online server is fine, and all systems are working. I understand that you wanted to talk to our software engineers to know the details of your file and account information. Currently, this isn't possible. I recommend contacting our QuickBooks Online Support to check the status of your case.
To answer your question about your plan on switching to QuickBooks Online Advanced if it improves the server performance you're experiencing right now is no. The information I gave above is mostly responsible for the performance issues.
I also encourage you to submit your product suggestion. All requests will be reviewed by our product development team. Your idea will help improve our product and lots of users can benefit from it.

Hello HAM9, We've provided a link to an article regarding limits for data in QuickBooks Online here. Any queries on that just reply back to this thread:smiling_face_with_smiling_eyes:
@EmmaM I will study the link in detail but please clarify what is meant by 11 character limit in amounts - is it before decimals, including decimals? What figures are we limited to including decimals - Billions, Tens of Billions...?
Hello HAM9, The 11 character limit in amounts relates to numbers it doesn't take into account the decimals just the numbers themselves. :smiling_face_with_smiling_eyes:
@EmmaM So I tested and it appears it takes up to 1 cent short of 100 Billion. However if a transaction (even if it's 1 cent) lands an account balance (e.g. Bank account) to equal to and cross the 100 Billion mark, it will produce an error and QBO won't let you save the entry.
The article referred to is deleted, can I have a new version. I am planning to use QBO to process 5,000 invoices per month and have them paid via Gocardless.
I need to know if this is feasible
Some of our clients run an e-commerce business to process over 100,000 monthly orders on QB Online.
Hello Springboard1, thanks for posting on this thread, so yes Quickbooks will be able to cope with you invoicing 5000 per month and having them paid via gocardless.
Well I have found quickbooks unuseable at times recently, and today they have told me i have too much data in it (300,000 transactions). Don't use if you have a lot of transactions/data
I am having significant problems with QBO, and they are random, meaning performance may be fine in the morning, but by the afternoon it can't load a clicked link. Yesterday it stopped allowing us to import transactions through a CSV file. We are having problems all over the place.
I spent 2.5 hours on the phone with support yesterday. The support person witnessed all of the terrible things and wrote a lengthy report, elevating the issue to the corporate support team, which I'm not allowed to actually talk to (but with my background, I could be really helpful in that discussion).

Yes, I cleared cache etc., restarted, tried other browsers, and did every troubleshooting option known by the QB support agent and his supervisors. No fix.
Some basic questions that could not be answered which need answering:
1. Is our "file size" getting too large for QBO? I ran into this issue with previous companies a long time ago and was told to never let your file size get over 1GB for QuickBooks or you'll start having lots of problems. I figured that would be an issue of the past given advancing in technology in the last decade, but is it still an issue?
2. Are others having performance issues where pages simply do not load or take forever loading? How often is this happening? What is the status of QBO servers?
3. Are there technical people at QB that I can talk to that have more access to the tech details of our file / account that can provide real information?
4. If we upgraded to Advanced, does QB designate better server performance?
If I need to plan on switching from QBO because these issues will never be resolved, I need to know sooner rather than later.
Thank you!
I appreciate you reaching out to the Community space, @jeffg123. I also understand the how important this is to get resolve as soon as possible. I can route you to our Technical support team.
For security reasons, we are unable toto pull up any account information. I'd suggest you continue working with our support team. They can guide you through the process get all your question answered.

Once you successfully import your transactions, you're know ready to Categorize and match online bank transactions in QuickBooks Online.
Please keep me posted if you need anything else, especially on how to manage your bank transactions. I'll be glad to assist you. Have a good one!
GebelAlainaM - I'm really sorry if this sounds rude.... did you read what I wrote before you replied? I don't think you need my account information to answer in generalities the questions about file size and performance. Do you have anything else to add?
@GebelAlainaM we need concrete answers rather than bland responses. Read the post by @jeffg123 carefully.

Thank you for your reply Giovann_G!
This morning, things started working fine again. Late last night our import worked (it was only like 10 lines, so no idea why that wouldn't work other than a short term glitch). We are great on all performance requirements with internet, ram, cache, etc.
Despite that, we are experiencing significant problems yet again this afternoon. From the spinning green line of death that wouldn't go away, to other error messages such as this one:
An unexpected error has occurred. Please try again shortly.
Shell service failed to fetch url - https://qbonline.api.intuit.com/v1/company/9130349282799456/uibootstrap

If the problem persists, please contact support.
The problem is persisting, and customer support resources are completely exhausted (they are not able to help me further), hence my posting here.
Giovann_G, it appears that you may have some more access to some of the details behind these issues? You seem more knowledgeable (due to QB accesses at least) than the last support person I spoke with (for 2.5 hours). This line about QB being able to handle billions of transactions is fine - but why am I experiencing issues? We are NO WHERE NEAR billions. We had 903 QB transactions in April 2022.
Please provide any more information you can on why these errors are happening, and/or put in a good word to someone in engineering to look specifically at this issue ASAP.
Thanks again
Thanks for getting back to us here in the Community, @jeffg123.
