I called for a validation code. After being validated, was told to hang up and press "F1" key. Nothing happened??? I need to activate my QB!

You came to the right forum to activate your software, @treetopsail,

 

Activating QuickBooks is made easier and accessible to all users. You can now register your product inside the program.

 

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Help menu and select About Intuit QuickBooks.
  2. Press Ctrl+R+P on your keyboard once the green logo appears.
  3. Enter the Validation code then click on Next.

If you don't have the code, I recommend contacting our Support Team again. Here's how to get support:

 

  1. Go to your QuickBooks Home page, then click the Help menu at the top.
  2. Choose QuickBooks Desktop Help from the drop-down.
  3. Hit the Contact us icon.

I called for a validation code. I also logged online to chat. No Quickbooks tech support is available either on phone or online. Can tech support just send the validation code via email? I am in Asia and I had to do this early to adjust to Pacific time, only to get no support whatsoever in Intuit.

I'll help you with getting the validation code so you can activate your QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).

 

At this time, you need to connect with our live support to ask for the validation code. For your convenience, I recommend reaching out to them during their business hours. Support Team is open from Monday to Friday from 6 AM to 6 PM PT for QBDT Pro, Premier, and Plus. And, anytime or any day for QBDT Enterprise.

 

To contact support:

 

  1. Open this link: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/learn-support/help/en-us/contact-us?product=QuickBooks%20Desktop.
  2. Select QuickBooks Desktop, then Continue.
  3. Choose your QuickBooks edition, then enter a short description of your concern.
  4. Hit Continue.
  5. Choose a way to connect with support.

 

You can also follow the steps provided by Jen_D above on how to contact support through your QBDT file.

 

Once the code is ready, you can now proceed with activating your QBDT.

If your QBD year version is too old (i.e 2009 or older), they may decline to generate the validation code. If their policy is consistent, they will start to decline generating a validation code for QBD 2010 when the new QBD 2022 version released in Q4 2021.
