Is American Express Business Checking ok now?

I understand your concerns about linking your American Express (AmEx) Business Checking account to QuickBooks Online (QBO), @Race-MX.

As per checking, we have no reported cases of being unable to connect the AmEx Business Checking account to QBO. Rest assured once connected, the program automatically downloads and categorizes your bank and credit transactions seamlessly for you. All you have to do is approve the work.

If you haven't yet, create an American Express Business Checking account on your chart of accounts. Then, connect it to online banking. To do that:

1. Go to Transactions and select Bank Transactions.
2. Click Link Account.
3. Search for American Express Business Credit Card & Checking (US), then Continue.
4. Sign in with your AmEx user ID and password. Then, follow the onscreen instructions.
5. Select the accounts you want to connect to QBO. For each account, choose the account type from the dropdown. This is the account you created in your chart of accounts.
6. Set the date range for the download and click Connect.

Additionally, it's a good practice to reconcile your accounts monthly to ensure they correspond to your bank statements. Doing so guarantees that they are balanced and accurate.

It appears Amex won't allow you to open a personal checking account if you have a business checking account. I'm just going to Bank of America.
