Payroll Breakdown

I need a report for my federal revenue agency that lists every employee, their pay periods, as well as their employee deductions and tax. It is for a Trust Account Review so I’m not sure what if I need an employees earning summary report or not. I know in simply it’s called the employees detail report. Any help would be grateful!

I've got you covered, @MegFarrell.

You can run the Payroll Details report to show all the payroll information you need. I'd be happy to guide you through the steps.

  1. Sign in to your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account.
  2. Click Reports from the left menu.
  3. Search for Payroll Details report.
  4. On the report, select the pay period you want to show.
  5. Then, click Apply.

After the steps, you'll be able to see your employee's taxes and deductions for the specific pay period.

I'm adding this article to learn more about the other payroll reports in QBO: Run payroll reports.

Should you need additional assistance running payroll reports in QBO, I'm available here to help any time! Wishing you all the best, @MegFarrell.

Thanks for your prompt reply, @MegFarrell. I’ll assist you further with running payroll reports in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

There are two types of payroll reports that we can use to see an employee's pay period with each deduction. The first one is the report that was provided by my colleague above. The other one is the Payroll summary by employee report.

I’ll provide you with the step-by-step process on how we can run the report for three calendar years:

  1. From the left navigation pane, select Reports menu.
  2. Looks for Payroll summary by employee report.
  3. Select the pay period by filtering the dates into three calendar years.
  4. Click Apply button.

The pay period, as well as any additional deductions, will be displayed from there.

We also have the option to export this report by clicking the Share ▼ dropdown located in the upper right corner and selecting Export to Excel.

Furthermore, you can check out this article about printing paychecks in QuickBooks Online Payroll.
