I tried to send direct deposit yesterday and got the following warning:
Problem creating request file. We tried to send your payroll information, but the transmission failed.
After a few hours online and on the phone with Intuit, no fix. Anyone else having this error? Any fixes?
Thanks!
Thanks for sharing the exact error, CR admin.
I'm here to help you send the direct deposit paychecks.
First, may I ask the troubleshooting steps you've performed with the payroll representative? Knowing so will help us isolate the problem. Meanwhile, I can share some recommended steps that can help you fix this error.
First, you'll want to log in as an Admin in QuickBooks and switch to single user mode. Just click File at the top menu bar and select Switch to Single-user Mode.
Next, make sure that there are no special characters or double-spaces from the Employee Information screen. Then, ensure that there no blank employees in the Employee List.
To review this, please follow these steps:
Updating QuickBooks Desktop to the latest release and downloading the latest payroll updates can usually resolve this error.
Then send a zero payroll to check the payroll connection.

That's it. Please let me know the results after trying the steps above. I'll be here to help if you have any follow-up questions. Have a good one.
Good afternoon,
I was on chat, and on the phone for 2 hours.
We tried to delete my payroll key and re-enter it.
We tried to run only one direct deposit at a time.
We reset the direct deposit password.
I tried restoring from a backup
He said he tried several items on "his end"
He also told me there is an "investigation" in to this problem. #IMV6410 I'm waiting for someone to get back to me.
I just now tried:
Switching to single user mode -I was already in that mode...
Updating QB Desktop: It looks like it downloaded a few new items, but I have the following errors:
Protocol Handler - Error #15227
Service messages: Error #502
Move Quickbooks: Error #15227
I just tried it again, and have the same error.
A few things I noticed that seem unusual:
- When I "view" the checks to be sent, there are 2 10/5/18 checks in the Run Summary, with 0 dollars in them. I haven't seen this before. He didn't know how to remove them.
- On Tuesday, when switching from another company file with no payroll... back to my main company file, my Payroll turned off, and I had to "activate it" again. I don't remember that happening before.
FYI, I'm running Pro 2019 for desktop
I look forward to any other information you can provide. Thanks so much!
I appreciate the details and the steps you've taken, @CR admin.
