Welcome to the QuicBooks Community, 6079. Let me provide steps so you can download QuickBooks Desktop Pro 2017 efficiently. 

Beforehand, please know QuickBooks Desktop 2017 software was already discontinued. The includes all 2017 versions of QuickBooks Desktop Pro, Premier, for Mac, and Enterprise Solutions v2017. You no longer have access to live technical support once you run into problems and are unable to receive the latest critical security patches and updates. On the other hand, you can click this link so you can start downloading QBDT. After that, you have to prepare some detailed mentions below for the installation.

• Make sure your computer meets the system requirements.
• If you haven’t already, download your version of QuickBooks Desktop. Save the file somewhere you can find it (like your Windows desktop).
• Have your product and license number handy.

Then, you can now install the program.

Here's how:

1. Open the file QuickBooks.exe.
2. Follow the on-screen instructions. Accept the software license agreement and then select Next.
3. Enter your product and license numbers and click Next.

Hava a new laptop and service has expired on Pro 2017... how do I get started on my new laptop?

If you meant that the service has expired is about online services like payroll, payments, e-invoice, live support, online banking, online backup, multi-currency, etc. Please note that it's no longer supported since service discontinuation for QBDT 2017 was last May 31, 2020, SCFORM.

Nonetheless, if you have an active license and product code, you can install and move the company files to your new laptop. Kindly ensure that the QBDT 2017 is compatible with your laptop, for it to work.

Here's how:

1. Before we begin, please ensure that QuickBooks Desktop is installed on your new computer.
2. Then go with creating a backup of your company file on the original computer.
3. When saving the backup file, give it a unique name to make it easily identifiable and to prevent accidental overwriting.
4. Store the backup file in a location that is easily accessible, such as your Windows desktop.
5. Transfer the backup company file to your new computer using a flash drive, an external device, or by sharing it over the same network.
6. On your new laptop, proceed with the steps to restore the backup. Make sure to maintain a unique file name for it.
7. If you use payroll, please be sure to download the latest tax table after transferring your file.

Since the online services will no longer be available for the QBDT 2017 version, I suggest upgrading to a newer version or switching to QuickBooks Online instead.
