Hi ! I am having  a hardtime printing my balance sheet due to RETAINED earnings account *error status*.

Can you help me please. i am using QB Online

Hi, @biu0218. I can share some troubleshooting steps so you can print your Balance Sheet report in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

 

The error you're getting might be affected by your browser's cache. For now, I'd recommend running your report through a private window to isolate the issue. It allows you to browse the web without saving your browsing history. To bring one up, follow these steps:

 

  • Google Chrome: press Ctrl Shift 
  • Mozilla Firefox: press Ctrl Shift 
  • Safari: press Command Shift N

 

If it works, clear the cache of your main browser to remove browser history. You can also use other supported browsers to narrow down the result.

 

Just in case you're getting the same result after trying to run the report as suggested, I'd recommend checking your retained earnings history to spot the root cause of the issue.

 

  1. Sign in to your QBO account.
  2. Click on Accounting on the left pane, then Chart of Accounts.
  3. Find the Retained Earnings account.
  4. Tick the Run Report from the Action column.
  5. From the Report period, click on All Dates.
  6. Hit Run report.

I know how you would want to contact our QuickBooks Online Support Experts to fix this error. But, let me assist you first and provide you with some troubleshooting steps to sort this out. 

First off, the browser can occasionally be poorly configured, which leads to issues. I suggest opening a different browser or a private window to isolate the issue. Here's how to activate incognito mode in some of the most common online browsers:
 

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Microsoft Edge: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: Command + Option + P


If you can no longer see any error message when logging in to your QuickBooks, it's safe to say that the browser has caused it. This can be fixed by clearing your cache and cookies.

However, if the issue persists, I suggest contacting our QuickBooks Online Support Experts. At Can't get signed in? section of the page, you'll be able to see the QuickBooks contact number.

cannot open quickbooks again. purchased updated recently. had technicla support last week. same problem and c=47 on payments.

The error c=47 in QuickBooks Desktop has detected corruption on your file and will no longer access your data or a section of your data file. To make sure you'll get around this issue, let's consider closing and reopening your QuickBooks file. You can restart your computer and database server to see if this fixes the error. Also, ensure that QuickBooks is set up correctly and the computer hosting the data file is up and running.

 

If the same thing happens, let's install the QuickBooks Tool Hub on your desktop. We'll use this to deal with network problems, company file damages, and other performance issues. Then, we can run the Quick Fix My Program tool from the Tool Hub to end QuickBooks processes running in the background. To do this:

 

  1. Close your QuickBooks.
  2. Download the QuickBooks Tool Hub file.
  3. Open the QuickBookstoolhub.exe file.
  4. Follow the on-screen steps to install it and agree to the terms and conditions.
  5. Select Finish.
  6. Double-click the icon on your Windows desktop to open the tool hub.

 

Once done, follow the steps below: 

 

  1. In the QuickBooks Tool Hub, select Program Problems.
  2. Click Quick Fix My Program.
  3. Start QuickBooks Desktop and open your data file.

Hi Vicky, when I sign on to online it brings up my accounts. I pick the account I want and then it brings up another sign in from intuit, but were it has for me to put in my phone number, it has one of the emails associated with my account in that place and there is nothing it lets me do.

It's my pleasure to provide information about the error 1603 you've encountered in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).

 

Error 1603 indicates that there's an issue with the QuickBooks installer or update files in use. This error is normally visible at the time of installing QuickBooks Desktop or updating it. 

 

To fix it, you'll want to install Tool Hub to run the Install Diagnostic Tool, which is a useful program to fix problems in QBDT. Please refer to the steps below for guidance in downloading and using it:

 

  1. Close QuickBooks.
  2. We recommend you download the most recent version (1.4.0.0) of the QuickBooks Tool Hub. Save the file somewhere you can easily find it. If you've already installed Tool Hub before, you can find out which version you have. Select the Home tab. The version will be displayed on the bottom right. Otherwise, you can select About to view the version.
  3. Open the file you downloaded (QuickBooksToolHub.exe).
  4. Follow the on-screen steps to install and agree to the terms and conditions.
  5. Once the installation finishes, double-click the icon on your Windows desktop to open the tool hub.

 

After downloading it, you can now use it:

 

  1. Open the QuickBooks Tool Hub.
  2. In the tool hub, select Installation Issues.
  3. Select QuickBooks Install Diagnostic Tool. Let the tool run. It can take up to 20 minutes.
  4. When the tool finishes, restart your computer.

Before proceeding, have you followed the troubleshooting suggestions above? Doing so will help refresh the system files.

 

Since this error appeared during an update, we can have additional methods to fix this. Before starting, download the installer for your version of QuickBooks. Prepare your license number on the original package or in the purchase confirmation email if bought online.

 

Once done, follow the steps below:

 

  1. Open the Windows Start menu and search for Control Panel, then open Control Panel.
  2. Select Programs and Features or Uninstall a Program.
  3. From the list of programs, pick the version of QuickBooks Desktop you want to remove.
  4. Click Uninstall/ChangeRemove, and then Next.  
  5. If this option is unavailable, sign out and sign back in to Windows as an admin (or a user with admin rights).
