I've got an alternative so you can bypass the installation and access QuickBooks Pro 2016, which requires an Internet Explorer browser, WPFT92124.

Since June 15, 2022, Microsoft has no longer supported Internet Explorer. However, if you're using Windows 7 operating system (OS), you can still install Internet Explorer add-ons. Otherwise, it's advisable to download the Microsoft Edge browser.

To download Internet Explorer for Windows 7, follow these steps:

  1. Close QuickBooks Desktop.
  2. Select the appropriate Internet Explorer package that fits your needs from this link: Popular Internet Explorer downloads.
  3. Install the downloaded browser.
  4. Reopen QuickBooks.

If the issue persists, I recommend installing Microsoft Edge instead:

  1. Close QuickBooks Desktop.
  2. Download the latest release of Internet Explorer through this link: Get started with Microsoft Edge.
  3. Install the browser.
  4. Reopen QuickBooks.

Whenever you're still encountering the same problem, I suggest enabling Internet Explorer mode (IE mode) to access sites or applications that require Internet Explorer as its default browser:

  1. Open Internet Explorer and click the Ellipsis (...) icon.
  2. Select Settings, then Default browser.
  3. Turn on the Microsoft Edge is your default browser option, then Allow sites to be reloaded in Internet Explorer mode (IE mode).
  4. When prompted, click the Restart () button.
  5. Reopen QuickBooks.
