Personal info being sold...WHY!!!???

I use QBTIME. When it was Tsheets I never had a problem with my personal information being sold. As far as I know. However, I have been recently getting emails from people trying to get my business. (Forbes wants me to advertise in their magazine...)

I am very strict about giving my information away, and when I start getting "spam" in my inbox (where I never have received it before) I figured out through the way they were addressing me, my business name, and my business email address...

QBTIME. They took my information from QBTIME and are selling it to their partners. QBTime addresses me in a very specific way. And these random people are addressing me in the very same way.

I know for a fact without having to be told. If you'd like to reach me before I reach out to my lawyer, I think that would be a good idea.

Here are the people that have contacted me:

I would like to add that they have my phone number too. To get to the bottom of all the spam I have been getting, I tried to bait one of the solicitors into giving me their phone number. Instead of giving me their phone number, they called me directly. That is not ok.

Ensuring the security of your account is our utmost concern, @Joshua82. We have a website where you can report phishing emails and other security issues.

Awareness and preventive measures are crucial to safeguard against security threats like phishing, spam, spoofing, and hoax emails. These deceptive tactics can take different forms but often appear quite convincing.

Rest assured, we have implemented various measures to protect your data, such as encryption and advanced security protocols. Please refer to this article to learn more about how we handle your company's information and keep it protected: Privacy and security in QuickBooks. It also tackles how we keep your data secure, spot when scammers spot you, and our list of recommendations.

Nonetheless, I highly suggest reaching out to our Customer Care Team since the Community is a public forum, and we'll need to collect some personal information to pull up your account. They have all the necessary tools to investigate the emails you received.

Furthermore, I recommend checking out this article to help you easily recognize official Intuit correspondence and websites: Identify Suspicious Activity, Phishing Scams, and Potential Fraud.

I'm just a reply away if you have any other questions about reporting this concern. I'm determined to ensure your QuickBooks account is always secure. Keep safe!

  • "Our emails will always come from an email address that ends with @intuit.com. This includes @e.intuit.com.
  • Any link we send you in an email will always be for an intuit.com address."

@Kevin_C   So you've never heard of Phishing?  Using the EXACT same thing that you and all your buddies that are employed by QB say only come from you guys is called PHISHING!!  THAT"S the scam!!  Maybe you ALL should research it.  Maybe go to a class on it.  But STOP telling QB customers that they are safe if the email ends with what you state is QB, when PHISHING is a REAL thing.

Besides, the OP never said they were emails directly FROM Quickbooks.  They said ya'll are selling the company info, which is causing all the problems and spam emails.

I would have expected your first response to be more professional and serious, given what is at stake here. I know what phishing is. This is not phishing. They know exactly who I am and are reaching out to me. I will be contacting your Care Team after I have collected more evidence. After all, every email I receive is evidence.

@Joshua82 The phishng comment wasn't directed at you.  That's why it was  under someone else's comment.  But thanks for pointing it out.  Have a great day.

My bad. I don't know these forums and I'm at my wits end trying to get in touch with someone who can give me answers.

I truly believe that Intuit is selling or providing our information to scammers as well.

I get e-mails and phone calls from scammers claiming to be from Intuit or just from Quickbooks Support and they want to remote in to my computer to "fix errors" or "download updates" or just to talk to me about a price increase, but if I buy some special thing today, I'll get a discount.

But they have information that I've only given to Intuit and I've confirmed with Intuit that these are not legitimate employees and that they aren't calling me to make sure I've downloaded updates.

So how did they get my info except directly from Intuit?

I can tell you that I never got these scam phone calls/e-mails until I bought Quickbooks...
