Join nowI’m surprised there is, so far, no discussion here about QuickBooks abandoning POS. It’s a rather abrupt and disheartening decision by Intuit, both for those who just recently adopted the desktop POS and those who have been using the application for years.
I have a client who, within the last 4 months made a significant investment in QB POS software and equipment that was essentially wasted.
Not a considerate move by Intuit.

Intuit will discontinue QuickBooks Desktop Point-of-Sale on October 3, 2023. As a result, no future versions of QuickBooks Desktop Point-of-Sale software will be released, and they will no longer sell the product to new customers. On the mentioned date, the following connected services will be turned off:

We are currently exploring the possibility of our clients using a third party payment processor as a solution to integrate with QB Desktop and QB POS.
That would, at least, buy a little time.
After gladly selling my client multiple pin pads that never were fully functional, QuickBooks is now closing out the only Payments service those pin pads support.
