I have a 3371-11118 error code while trying to re-install QB 2012 Desktop Pro on Lap top on which I had to replace the harddrive on the laptop. I also have this version on my desktop which is working well, QB Tool Hub gives the solution but requires all installations to be re-registered. Since QB does not support 2012 QBPro, will the desktop and laptop continue to work without having to purchase a newer version? Tech support said they longer support this version and will not give you any access codes.
Let me help with your questions about using old versions of QuickBooks, Sam.
You can still use QuickBooks 2012 as long as you will not be using add-on services. This includes QuickBooks Payments, Bank Feeds, payroll Services, and other features that require an internet connection. More details about this are discussed here: QuickBooks Desktop Service Discontinuation Policy And Upgrade Information.
Aside from using the QuickBooks Tool Hub, you can install QuickBooks Desktop in Selective startup mode. Here's an article as a guide: Install or Uninstall QuickBooks in Selective Startup.

For the registration, I'd suggest reaching out to our Technical Support Team one more time. They can take a look at the license and generate a validation code for you.

Try contacting Support again and ask for the activation code. Don't tell them that you have contacted Support earlier. If they still refused to give the activation code, you don't have any option but upgrading your version. You can still purchase a one time license of QBD 2020 or 2021.
