Hi,
Thanks for the idea. I disable the bank feeds. Don't work with TD Bank anyway. Error 195 gone!
Cheers!
Deb
I get this error message everytime I back up my files and cannot find a way to get rid of it or find out what is causing it. I have even called to no avail.
Which QB Desktop year version do you have? How big is the file size?
Hello there, pbennett828.
It isn't the kind of experience we want you to come across.
Let's isolate what's causing the error by updating your file to the latest release.
I'll show you how:
For the detailed steps I mentioned, you can click here.
Then, follow the steps in this article on how to fix data damage on your QuickBooks Desktop company file. After that, let's create a backup to see if the error persists.
I've added this article for the detailed steps to create a backup: Create a backup copy of your company file.

I had been having the error 195 for 2 years and could never resolve it. We obviously don't have support since this program was gotten through TechSoup for non-profits.
Last week I was reading all the comments and finally found the fix. Mine started when I tried to set up download from bank to post directly into my QB desktop. So my fix was to open my "chart of accounts" and, on mine, the very top one is my bank, I opened edit, and REMOVED the bank account number and did save and close. I then closed and I don't have the error anymore. geez louise that was so simple. I suggest you try that for ANY of the bank feeds that you might have set up and delete the account number. I may never try to set up for download again as we are a small church with small number of entries that I can enter manually easily. Hope this helps someone else. ChrisJeanes
Advanced System User Resolution (Manually)
Firstly, start your system. After that, log in as an administrator.
Next, move to the start button and choose All Programs. After that, go to Accessories and then System Tools. Finally, press the System Restore option.
After that, a replacement window will open in which you have to click on “Restore my laptop to an earlier time” and click on the Next button.
Now from the “On this list” option, you need to pick the restore system to an earlier time option.
Click a restore point list and click on the Next button.
Click Next on the confirmation window.
Lastly, restart your computer once the restoration is complete
Hope this helps
Thank you so much for taking the time to send an answer to my inquiry. I did get it fixed but all I had to do was remove the bank account number inside my "chart of accounts" for that bank. It had been on for several years and began when I tried to set up for downloading bank data directly into QB. So I did not have a "good" previous copy to use. But it absolutely removed the error once I removed the bank account number from that chart of accounts. Thanks again!
I called your Quickbooks Tech support yesterday and HER solution was deleting ABANDONING that account, making it "Inactive", Creating a new bank account and carrying over the balance from THE SAME BANK ACCOUNT and changing the name to NEW old bank account. I had to do this for year ending 2021. I'M NOT DOING IT AGAIN. I really hate QBs. I hope the DOJ goes after you guys. The inablility to upgrade seemlessly is the reason the users don't upgrade. Instead of fixing the issue, Intuit forces it.
I got that code, but more so:
"Non-Customer Support" on day 4 of waiting for the promised call within 24hrs. He asserted "You've grown too fast and customer can't keep up!" "...needs complete overhaul." Being a user since Intuit launched QB from a 3-man office in Novato, CA in 1980s, I would have to agree with the assertion!
I AM SO GRATEFUL TO READ about 2 other human beings being in the mire with this lame company.
