Something's not quite right error after upgrading.

I just upgraded from QB 2017 to QB 2022.  I went from 2017 to 2019, then from 2019 to 2022.  Everything was working fine, and it's still working fine on my local PC, where I did the install.  Once I had updated my company file and tested it, I move the data to my server and started there.

On the server, I installed the 2022 version and opened my company file and it worked as expected.

Next, I got a popup that QB needed some updates and I ran them.  Once the updates were completed, I am now getting the "Something's not right..." error.

Any ideas?

PS:  Just to review.  QB2022 is installed on my local PC and it's working great with the company file I upgraded.

All I have done is copy the company file to my server and try to open it on the server and that's where I'm getting the "Something isn't right..." error.

I got you here, crp0499. We'll take some steps to get rid of the File Doctor prompt.

First, you'll want to download the version of QuickBooks Toolhub. This program is a collection of tools that can help resolve major issues and errors a user might face while working in QuickBooks Desktop. For the best experience, we recommend using this tool on Windows 10, 64-bit. Here's how:

  1. Close QuickBooks.
  2. Download the most recent version (1.5.0.0) of the QuickBooks Tool Hub
  3. Open the file you downloaded (QuickBooksToolHub.exe).
  4. Follow the on-screen steps to install, then agree to the terms and conditions.
  5. Once done, double-click the icon on your Windows desktop to open the tool hub.

Once done, it's time to run the Quick Fix my File and QuickBooks File Doctor utility:

  1. From the tool hub, select the Company File Issues tab.
  2. Select Quick Fix my File.
  3. Once done, click OK and then open QuickBooks again.
  4. If the error message persists, please go back to the tool hub.
  5. Then, click the Company File Issues tab.
  6. Select Run QuickBooks File Doctor.
  7. Choose your company file from the drop-down menu.
  8. Select Check your file (middle option only), then click Continue.
  9. Enter your QuickBooks admin password, then hit Next.

If the same thing happens, I recommend contacting our QuickBooks Support Team. They have specific tools to ensure this gets fixed.

Additionally, I've added an article that'll help you find out what your computer needs for the best experience when QuickBooks Desktop 2022. It'll also help avoid issues while working on your file: System Requirements.

Please keep me posted if you need more help in accomplishing your other tasks in QuickBooks Desktop. I'll always have your back.

So, I followwed your instructions and when I get to the File Doctor and I browse to my company, I'm prompted for a username and password.  When I use the admin username and password, it tells me my username or password is incorrect.  of course, it's not incorrect.  It's the same username and password I use when I log into the company every day.

What kind of update did you see? Did you see the same update notification on your local machine?

I would recommend these following steps:

1. Open your QBD 2022 on local machine and create a backfile

2. Reinstall QBD 2022 on your server and restore the backup file

Someone can close this.  The machines I was working on had Win 10 LTSB on them.  That was the problem.  I spun up a couple of Win 11 machines and I'm cooking with jet fuel.
