Join nowI use the Banking -> Reconcile function to reconcile my balance sheet accounts. When I reconcile an account that has build assemblies included, it does not clear them from this screen. When I run a report to show uncleared items these items are not on it. However, when I go into reconcile the account again, all of the build assemblies are still there, but they are highlighted already. Why don't the Build Assemblies clear and disappear from this screen? Is there a setting that can be changed?
Hello, @RWalczak.
I'm here to help fix the issue you're having with reconciling build assemblies in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).
Reconciled or cleared transactions showing as unclear may occur when a future date is entered in the Statement Date field of the Begin Reconciliation window.
There are two ways on how to correct this. First is to undo the previous reconciliation and then reconcile the transactions again using the correct date. Here's how:
The second option is to leave the reconciliation as it is. The transactions will appear as cleared on the report once the statement date has been reached.
To help prevent this issue in the future, check the date in the Statement Date field of the Begin Reconciliation window before continuing with the reconciliation. Make sure the date does not occur in the future.

I'm only a post away if you have follow-up questions about this or anything else QuickBooks. I'll be happy to help. Stay safe.
I should have included in my original email the following steps I already took.
I have verified and rebuilt the data.
I have already unreconciled and reconciled 4 times with the same problem, the build assemblies do not clear.
When starting the reconciliation, I always click hide transactions after the statement end date so that I don't clear something I shouldn't.
If you would like I can reconcile again and highlight on the report the items that should have cleared but did not.
I wish you didn't have to go through all these hurdles when reconciling your build assemblies, @RWalczak. I want to stop this from happening to you as soon as possible.
I appreciate your doing some basic troubleshooting steps. To help fix the issue, let's ensure the account you use in the inventory part of the assembly is expenses, not a bank. If you use a bank, please update the affected account.
But if you use bank and the issue persists, I'd suggest contacting our Customer Care Team. This way, they can further look into this issue and provide additional troubleshooting steps to get this fixed.
Make sure to contact them within business hours to ensure a swift response.
I've additionally included a few detailed resources about working with inventory assemblies that may come in handy moving forward:
Keep me posted if you have any other questions about QuickBooks Desktop. The Community and I are always here to help. Keep safe.
I spent 2 1/2 hours on the phone with someone yesterday and my problem still exists. I was told I had to do an update on the server that stores my QB Desktop. This was done and I tried doing the reconciliation again for the 5th time with the same results. The Build Assembly items do not clear.
PLEASE SOMEONE HELP.

Hello, RWalczak.
I understand how important it is for your company to eliminate those build assemblies from the reconcile screen. I have shared your issue with my team and someone may reach out to you soon to discuss your case much further.
I encourage you to check your email or your Community profile from time to time to see their recommendations. If the issue is still unresolved, I recommend contacting our QuickBooks Desktop Support once again. They can pull up your account and submit a ticket for further investigation.
Please refer to the step provided by my colleague MichelleBh to reach them.
