Modern Invoice Template

Hello. Is there a way to delete the modern invoice template from QBO? Each month I upload more than hundred invoices and though the default setting for the invoice template is Standard, QBO uploads invoices to the Modern template, which is the worst template available. Thank you for your help.

I agree that the modern invoices are about the worst thing Intuit has shoved into QB Online recently.

 

However, this is probably another of QuickBooks Online weaknesses in that you probably can't specify the template to use when importing.

BigRedConsulting - I guess that's what it is. Such a nuisance this is. Probably a good idea but poorly implemented!

I know how important having the right invoice templates is to you, Anya. However, you're unable to delete the modern invoice template in QuickBooks Online as it is set as the default design and is a fixed part of the system.

 

If you're interested in this feature being included in the software, I can help you send feedback to our Product Development team. They will take your suggestions into consideration and potentially add them to the system.
 

Here's how:

 

  1. Log in to your QuickBooks Online account.
  2. Click on the Gear icon located in the top right corner.
  3. From the Profile column, choose Feedback.
  4. Type in your comments or suggestions regarding the product.
  5. When you're done, click Next to submit your feedback.

 

You can track your suggestions on the QuickBooks Online Feature Requests page.

Since the 'modern' template is forced on us by default how can we modify it?  I import a lot of invoices and the modern layout does not include any of my language on late fees etc.  Please don't tell me to open each invoice and select a legacy invoice 100 times.

Correct that is exactly what I am forced to do.  Its a waste of time that's way we automate things with code.

I agree with you 100%.  It is ridiculous that we need to manually reset each one of our batch invoices (in my case, 52) because QBO does not recognize any invoice other than their "Modern" invoice, regardless what you have set as default.   This seems like it should be a simple fix, so I have to assume they are choosing to ignore the issue.
