Hello, Is it possible to set a limit on how early an employee can clock in, and how late they can clock out. IE, 5 minutes early or 5 minutes late, without needing a supervisor to approve the punch? this for Tsheets Kiosk

I am not sure TSheets has that feature yet. You may find it on another time tracker app. You will create a punch limiting rule and specify how many minutes before or after a shift an employee is allowed to punch time. You'll then want to assign the necessary employees to the rule.

I am wondering the same thing.  We have been using tsheets without scheduling and are just getting started on this.  I would like to have 7:30 as the earliest anyone can clock in..... Meaning if they clock in at 7:15 their time does not start until 7:30..... Is there a way to do this?

Good morning, @Sam142 and @larirg! I'm glad to see you both in the Community with this question. I'm happy to explain your options with QuickBooks Time and these notifications,

If you use the schedule in QuickBooks Time, you're able to set up alerts for when employees clock in early or late to that shift. There's also a schedule report called "Tardies" that will give you the amount of times an employee was late clocking into their shift.

As far as being able to limit the time users can clock in, that's not available in QuickBooks Time right now. I'd definitely recommend reaching out to our developers and requesting this feature. It's really important for us to know what would make our customers' business run smoother and how we can improve.

Here's an article walking you through how to leave that feedback: Submit feedback to QuickBooks Time.

Please feel free to reply to this post with any questions you may have. All of us here in the Community are eager and happy to help!

How about adding this feature instead of talking about other features I do not want or need. Its been years.

Hi there, @colonelgk. We understand your urgency to have this feature in QuickBooks Time.

Considering that, I recommend submitting direct feedback to our Product Development Team to request this feature about setting up a time limit of when your employee can clock in and out in QuickBooks Time. Here's how:

  1. Hover your cursor to the Help tab beside the Bell icon and click it.
  2. Select the Suggest Idea option.
  3. Enter detailed information on your feature request in the Idea table.
  4. Once done, click the Send Idea tab.

Moreover, if they see that this feature can improve our users' experience when managing their employees' clock-in and clock-out time, they can add it to our future product updates.

You might want to modify some of your team members' access to your QuickBooks Time account to ensure that accurate time data will show up before you approve them. Check out this article for more information: Change QuickBooks Workforce settings and permissions.

Keep us updated if you have additional product suggestions or questions about managing your employee's time. We'll ensure to assist you. Take care always.

Thanks for joining this thread, brentj.

I can certainly understand how an option to set limits for when team members can clock in/out could be useful and have submitted a suggestion about it as of today.

You can also submit your own feature requests while signed in.

Here's how:

  1. Go to our QuickBooks Time help page.
  2. At the bottom, click Suggest an idea.
  3. Enter your request, then hit Post a new idea or Vote for an existing idea.
  4. If you'd like to, choose a category.
  5. Describe what you're requesting.
  6. Select Post idea.

Your feedback's definitely valuable to Intuit. It will be reviewed by our Product Development team and considered in future updates. You can find news about your product on our Product Updates webpage.

Please feel welcome to send a reply if there's any questions. I'll be here to help. Have a great day!

Is there a way for me to set a time window that our staff can clock in.  For example, the issue we have is that they are clocking in 15-20 minutes early and we only want them to be able to clock in as early as 7:55 am.

Hello there, @Cassie S.

Currently, setting a limit for users to clock in isn't possible in QuickBooks Time. I understand how important this feature working for you and your business. With that, I suggest sending feedback to our product developer. This way, they can add it for future updates.

  5. Describe what you're requesting.
  6. Select Post idea.

Intuit is number one when it comes to ignoring and caringlittle about what its customers have to say or want. The whole company was offshored and gutted. No one is in charge. Took a great product and ruined it. We will never get this feature.
