TSheets

We were with TSheets prior to Intuit buying them out. For the last couple years, the GPS went from spectacular with TSheets to absolute GARBAGE with Intuit.

I cannot tell you how many times I've called or did the chat feature to figure out what is going on. Turns out Intuit decided to mess with TSheets, but didn't tell anyone they screwed it up. Rather they blame: The phone. The tower. The location. The server. The satellite. Absolutely anything and everything except themselves, where the TRUE blame lies. Intuit has made the GPS worthless.

Last month I called and asked for a credit since half our employees are not showing, even after: verifying latest app. Device Logs. Uninstall. Reinstall. Verify phone settings. and on and on. I was told we'd see a credit for July.

Shocker! No credit. Today 5 of 9 employees are not showing. Called QB Time (again) and was told by this person that they cannot offer credits and gave me a link for a form - but the QB Time is NOT an option, so we're essentially paying for NOTHING.

WE WANT A CREDIT.

GPS is pulled rom a combination of satellites, Wi-Fi, and cellular data. There's many factors that can't be controlled, such as a device's technical capabilities, weather patterns, atmosphere, etc. This can make it difficult for some GPS points to be pulled, or to find out why a certain point may not be pulling correctly.

Before troubleshooting GPS tracking issues, you'll want to confirm you're set up correctly and using the newest version of our QuickBooks Workforce app.

If locations are still incorrect or missing after confirming you're set up properly, there's a number of things which can cause this:

  • The device is overheated or damaged.
  • The device is off or its battery died.
  • You’re clocked in through a computer or kiosk.
  • You’re in a location with satellite interference.
  • The app or the device operating system is out of date.
  • You’re signed out of the app, not on the clock, or on break.
  • The device is in power saving mode, airplane mode, or a low battery setting.
  • Restrict background data is on (Android) or background app refresh is off (iOS).
  • The app was force closed (while a team member is clocked in, the app must be running in the background).
  • A timesheet was manually created (or edited) by your admin or manager. To find out if this happened, you can sign in with a web browser and go to Time Entries. Find your timesheet and view its Timesheet log. In the event your timesheet was created by someone else or edited, GPS points won't show.

Here's how to troubleshoot iOS devices:

  1. Turn the device off, then back on.
  2. Go to Settings, Privacy & Security, then Location Services.
       • Make sure Location Services is turned on.
       • Turn it off and back on, then find and select Workforce.
       • Set Allow Location Aaccess to Always.
       • Turn on Precise Location.
  3. To reset all wireless radios, go to Settings.
       • Turn on Airplane Mode, then turn it off.
  4. To turn off battery saver settings or apps, go to Settings, then Battery.
       • Confirm Low Power Mode is turned off.
       • If you have battery saver apps, make sure their permissions are set to not include your Workforce app.

Here's how to troubleshoot Android devices:

  1. Turn the device off, then back on.
  2. Go to Settings, Apps, QuickBooks Workforce, then Permissions.
       • Tap Location.
       • Turn on Allow all the time.
       • Select Use precise location.
  3. Turn off any battery saver settings for your Workforce app or other battery saving apps you have.

You can also report a problem if you've already tried all of these troubleshooting processes, but are still encountering issues with GPS tracking. After sending device logs to Intuit, you can get in touch with our Customer Care team and discuss the logs with support to investigate further. You'll also want to contact them if you're looking to discuss a refund for your account.

Please feel welcome to send a reply if there's any questions. Have a wonderful Monday!

There is absolutely no way you read what I wrote, or you wouldn't have responded as you did.

It's pretty bogus to jump on here and post just to get your points with Intuit. You should be ashamed.

Really, all you had to do was read the LAST SENTENCE since it's all I'm after.

Don't reply though. I need REAL answers. Not someone trying to score points.

Widespread GPS Issues Across Multiple Devices and Environments - Need Help!

We're experiencing persistent GPS problems that have been ongoing for several months now.

Affected devices: Both new iPhones and Samsung phones
Environments: Major urban centers and rural areas
Weather conditions: Occurring in both sunny and rainy weather
Duration: Several months of consistent issues
Troubleshooting: We've already performed all standard troubleshooting steps
Despite our efforts, the problem persists across all scenarios. We're at a loss and could really use some expert advice or insights from others who may have encountered similar issues.

Questions for the community:

Has anyone experienced similar widespread GPS problems?
Are there any known systemic issues affecting GPS across multiple device types and carriers?
Can anyone suggest advanced troubleshooting steps or diagnostic tools we haven't considered?
Has anyone found a solution to comparable GPS problems?
Any help or direction would be greatly appreciated. We rely heavily on GPS functionality, and these ongoing issues are significantly impacting our daily operations.

Thank you in advance for your assistance!

Has anyone experienced similar widespread GPS problems? Yes. Almost weekly
Are there any known systemic issues affecting GPS across multiple device types and carriers? Not that we've found. Every time we contact intuit, they blame our phone, or the cell towers or the location.
Can anyone suggest advanced troubleshooting steps or diagnostic tools we haven't considered? Countless reports on the phone to the intuit people without a single response. EVER.
Has anyone found a solution to comparable GPS problems? No. If you'd let me know of any, please let me know!
Any help or direction would be greatly appreciated. We rely heavily on GPS functionality, and these ongoing issues are significantly impacting our daily operations. My opinion? Find another app. Tsheets was amazing right up until intuit bought them out. Payroll is a nightmare; if I owned the company I work for, I'd have left long ago.

Sorry I cannot be of any actual help.

Thanks for joining this thread, ArrowATG.

I want to make sure you're able to use the GPS function in QuickBooks Time.

It sounds like you're on the right track with the troubleshooting steps you've tried so far. In this case, I recommend reaching out to a member of the QuickBooks Time Support Team. Agents have specialized tools to take a more in depth look at what could be causing this problem with the location tracking. They would also be able to get the issue escalated if necessary.

Here's how to get in touch with the team:

1. Sign in to QuickBooks Time and select Help.
2. Search existing Product Help articles.
3. If you can't find an answer to your question, select Contact Us.
4. Enter your concern, then select Continue.

5. Choose a way to connect with us, either through chat or request a phone call.

The following article provides these steps if you ever need them again in the future: Contact QuickBooks Time support
