Join nowI'm not sure why, but my entire message didn't get posted. So here it is. Hope someone sees it and helps!
On open estimates, almost completed, almost everything entered gets deleted & all of the columns are shrinking their widths for no reason. Any idea why? Can you help, please? Thanks!
Welcome to QuickBooks Community! I'm here to clear things out for you, @selfservicesucks.
You can pull up the list of open estimates you entered by Customer report in QuickBooks Online and filter it by status.
Follow these steps:
I've added a link as your reference: Run reports in QuickBooks Online. It covers the links to do more with reports.
If you have additional questions, please place a comment below. I'd be happy to help anytime. Take care, as always!
Hello and thank you for your response. However, I wasn't trying to pull up a list of open estimates.
As I described in my original message, I am having an issue with the following:
As I have an estimate open and I am working on it, entering information, almost finished... and QuickBooks deletes almost everything that I have entered into the fields, and also all columns shrink their width for no reason. Any idea why that's happening?? It's very frustrating! It's happened more than once, and I have to re-enter all info which is a waste of my time. Hope you can help.
Thanks,
Rolando
Hello there, @selfservicesucks.
Welcome to the Community. I'd be glad to assist you with estimates not saving.
One of the reasons you are having this issue is that you have clicked Save and new, which would open up a new estimate and could seem like all of the work was deleted. Check your recent estimates by clicking on the history button in the left corner at the top of the page and maybe the estimate was created.
If you're ever unsure about what information has been entered, one option that you have is to check the Audit Log, which keeps a record of actions within QuickBooks Online.
You can follow these steps below:
Also, you can go to the Manager users menu. This lets you view the activities performed by your users.
Here's how:
Moreover, you can use the audit history feature to view the changes and the person who made them. Also, you can check out this article about reports in QuickBooks Online.

Hello, @LollyNino_C .
Thanks for your detailed response.
But no, I haven't clicked "Save and new". Simply "Save", or "Save and close", but sometimes I can't even save it. It just doesn't save anything, and also all of the columns shrink their widths. Any idea why?
Thank you for reaching back, selfservicesucks.
I can share some insights about how to handle this issue.
This happens when you experience a bug in your browser that makes it tricky. The stored internet files can cause bugs in QBO. Let's perform some troubleshooting steps to fix it.
Here's how:
1. Use a private/incognito window.
2. Clear your cache and cookies.
3. Use a different browser.
Also, you can adjust the column widths by clicking and dragging the column dividers.
I'll include this article in case you want to convert the estimate into an invoice in QBO.
Let us know if you have further questions about QuickBooks. We're always here to back you up.
Hello, @Giovann_G,
Thanks for your message.
I know how to adjust the columns, what I don’t understand is why they keep adjusting themselves.
Rolando
Thanks for getting back to us, selfservicesucks.
I can tell why you have to keep adjusting the column on the estimate.
Columns on sales forms are set by default. Why there isn't a permanent way to save the changes of the column, you can adjust it anytime you want.
You can visit again this link to personalize the estimate: Customize invoices, estimates, and sales receipts in QuickBooks Online.
Also, I suggest using supported browsers to get the best out of your QuickBooks experience. Check out this article to find out what browser to use: System requirements for QuickBooks Online, Accountant, and QuickBooks Self-Employed.

Hello, @MaryLandT.
Thanks for your message, but it doesn't answer my question at all. I know that I can adjust the columns. That's not the point. Again:
Why do I have to adjust them??? Why can't the columns stay the way they are by default? Why, sometimes, as I try to save an estimate, Quickbooks doesn't save anything and shrinks the widths of the columns at the same time???
And yes, I am using supported browsers.
Hello, @MaryLandT.
Thanks for your message, but it doesn't answer my questions at all. I know that I can adjust the columns. That's not the point. Again these are the questions/issues:
Why do I have to adjust them??? Why can't the columns always stay the way they are by default?? Why is it that, sometimes, as I try to save an estimate, QuickBooks doesn't save it and it shrinks the width of all columns at the same time???
And yes, I am using supported browsers.
Thank you for providing us more details about the concern you're having, @selfservicesucks.
If you’ve already tried clearing your browser’s cache and using other supported browsers and still your columns are shrinking, then I suggest reaching out to our Customer Support. They can check your account in a secure environment and verify why you’re encountering this and help you resolve it.
You can reach our Customer Support for QuickBooks Online (QBO) by going to the Help icon at the top right of the account. Follow the steps below:
Here's the contact the QuickBooks Online Customer Support team article for more information.
You can also use this link for reference: Customize invoices, estimates, and sales receipts in QuickBooks Online.
You might also want to try importing your own template in QuickBooks Online. You can browse this article for more information: Import custom form styles for invoices or estimates.
