QuickBooks Time

Hi, I'm using QuickBooks Online and just recently started using QB Time as well.

When employees clock in, they are required to select the job they are working on. I'm wondering if there is a quick method for viewing the hours/labor expense associated with that particular customer/job.

Note: I am aware I can see a cumulative hour total for each worker within the Time application, but I'm hoping for more of a quick snapshot of all the hours submitted against any particular job in order to get a quick labor cost total for jobs while in the invoicing process. Also note, I'm not looking to add "billable hours" to the invoice, just a snapshot of the total labor cost.

Thanks in advance for any insights!

I can share some tips on how you can view that information, Alpha_Jeff.

The are many ways on how you can quickly view the total hours worked for a particular job. In QuickBooks Time mobile app, you can tap Overview and then select Week or Pay Period at the top to view your total hours for each option.

If you need more detailed information about the hours worked and the total amount due for the job or customer, you can sign in to your QB Time account using a computer and then pull up the Itemized Total Time and Team Member Job Costing report. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Reports menu.
  2. Select Itemized Total Time or choose Tracking > Team Member Job Costing.
  3. Set the date range, customer/job, and team member.
  4. Your time totals display at the top.

Also, here's an article that you can read to learn more about the different reports that will help you review times, jobs, and details in preparation for payroll: QuickBooks Time reports.

I'll be around if you need more help in tracking your employee hours or running your other reports. Thanks for dropping by.
