When I am entering a bill, when I tab after entering the reference number, the item or category line is really messed up. All the boxes are all scrunched together. I have to click somewhere else on the screen and then go click back in the line and finish coding the bill. Does anyone else have this issue?
Thank you for posting here in the Community, @asellers03. I’ll help you with entering bill seamlessly in QuickBooks Online (QBO).
Using the application seamlessly can help us work faster and finish our tasks on time. To isolate this matter, you can perform some troubleshooting steps as this concern could be a browser-related issue. Stored cache can cause unexpected behavior while using the application.
Here are the keyboard shortcuts to open a private browser:
If it works, kindly proceed with clearing your cache. This helps improve the performance of the application. Then, if the issue persists, you can refer to this article for other supported browsers while using QBO.
Furthermore, you can refer to this article about recording bills in QuickBooks Online: Enter bills and record bill payments in QuickBooks Online
Let me know in the comments if you need further assistance with your transactions. I’ll make sure to get back to you as soon as I can. Have a great day!

I appreciate you trying the troubleshooting steps mentioned above. Since that didn't do the trick I recommend reaching out to a member of the QuickBooks Online Support Team. Agents have the necessary tools, such as the ability to screen-share, to take a closer look at your account to determine what's causing the issue.
Here's how to get in touch with the team:
1. Click the Help button in the top right corner.
2. Select Contact Us.
3. Enter Support in the field and choose Let's talk.
4. From here you can select to receive a callback at a time that's convenient for you, or begin a live chat session with an agent.
The following linked article provides these steps if you ever need them again in the future: QuickBooks Online Support
Please feel free to reach back out here if you have any other questions or concerns. I'll be here to help.
It's a wide spread issue. Chat "Support" told me it's working as it should... much like they always do. (Eyeroll) They haven't really seemed to care much, so I have just dealt with it. (And yes, I cleared my cache, cookies, Etc)
Nothing else I can really do. It is SUPER annoying and SUCH a waste of time to have to deal with it.
QBO is almost always broken, these days.
Thanks for letting me know, asellers03.
Since none of the troubleshooting methods are resolving the issue, I recommend reaching out to a member of the QuickBooks Online Support Team following the steps listed above in the thread. An agent will be able to get this escalated further if necessary and get you added to the list of affected companies. Once you've been added, you'll receive email notifications regarding updates and ultimately the resolution.
Please don't hesitate to comment below if you have any other questions. Take care!
I have this issue also. When tabbing through any transaction when getting to Categroy field it is all messed up with unrelated items plus one cannot tab out of it. I have to click on something else and then go back to Category. I understand that this has happened in Chrome, Edge and several others so is not a browser issue. It is a Quickbooks issue. It is frustrating and the work takes longer. I hope they fix it soom.
Thanks for posting this I thought I was losing my mind, it's very annoying so hope they find a fix soon!!
One thing I did to get through a transaction was to hit shift-tab ,when I hit the Category field, followed by tab tab. I got pretty quick at it. The work went faster and less reaching for mouse constantly.
In an update I received, just today, it is supposedly in the works to have this function fixed, next week sometime.
I'm not holding my breath, though.
IT IS FIXED! Thanks so much.
