Looks like there has been a report overhaul. How can I see P&L YOY comparison including % of income? Or even a multi-year comparison? Using QB online.

Hello there, @lolojuice.

I'm here to guide you in running Profit & Loss report that compares the % of income for multiple years.

QuickBooks' financial reports provide you information about your company. You can customize reports in a variety of ways. You can filter them to display only certain years, or arrange the layout so that the appropriate data appears where it should. Here's how to tailor reports so that they highlight the information that's most important to you.

I'll show you how:

  1. Go to Business overview, then select Reports, or go to Reports.
  2. Find and open the Profit & Loss report.
  3. Under Report period, choose Custom from the dropdown. Then select the date range.
  4. In the Display columns by dropdown, select Years.
  5. From the Compare another period dropdown, tick the checkbox of the details you want to add, like the % of income.
  6. Click Run Report.

For future reference, you can check this article to guide you with report customization: Customize reports in QuickBooks Online.

Let me know if you need additional assistance running reports in QuickBooks Online. I'm always here to help. have a great day.

Thank you!! As mentioned, however, it appears Reports have changed? The "Compare another period dropdown" no longer exists.

Hello, lolojuice.

Thank you for getting back to us. I've checked and replicated it on my end and was able to modify the Compare another period dropdown.

Sometimes too much cache build-up in a browser can cause unexpected behavior with the product. To clear this out, open your account in a incognito/private window. This mode doesn't record any activity on your local device. Here's how:

  • Press Ctrl + Shift + N (Google Chrome).
  • Ctrl + Shift + P (Firefox).
  • Control + Option + P (Safari).

If you're able to utilize the dropdown, then let's clear the cache in your web browser or try using a different supported browser. It could be a temporary issue with QuickBooks and the current browser that you use.
