How can I get a zero dollar sales order to show on my open orders report?

I understand that you are having an issue with your Open Sales Order Report in QuickBooks Desktop which is not showing the dollar sales order. I am here to help you how to achieve your goal.
First, make sure your QuickBooks Desktop is updated to the latest release to ensure the system is running on the newest patch and fixes. Then run the Verify Rebuild tool to fix this. This scans your company file for errors and self resolved them right away. Let me show you how.

Maybe I didn't explain this correctly. I have sales orders (open orders) that are at no cost to the customer. These orders do not show on the report.

I hear you and I'm here to ensure you're able to run the Open Sales Order report with sales orders that has no cost to your customers in QuickBooks Desktop.
I too had to make sure the said report does show sales orders with zero amount of transaction. And I found out it shows your desired transaction.
This is the reason why my colleague shared the QuickBooks utility tool above attempting to identify why your report is not working as expected. We may need to continue the troubleshooting if the steps above did not display the transaction data on your report.

Once done, consider generating the Open Sales Order report to make sure your sales orders for customers with a $0.00 amount of transaction are showing.

I have Quick Books in a hosted environment so I m unable to download the "tools" app.
