We are using Quickbooks Online Plus and I have set up a user. I don't want this user to have access to certain reports. How can I do this.

Welcome to the Community forum, s_nieman.

I recognize your need to add options to limit users for specific reports in QuickBooks Online. But we currently don't have the option to set access for certain reports.

We'd still like to hear your suggestions. I suggest submitting feedback to let our engineers know about the feature you need.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon at the top
  2. Select Feedback.
  3. Enter your comments or product suggestions. Then click Next to submit.

Our Product Development team will receive and review your suggestion along with the other feature requests.

To learn about the different options for user roles and access permissions, you can check out this link: User roles and access rights in QuickBooks Online.

Feel free to return to this thread if you need further assistance with anything or have other concerns about managing users. I got your back. Have a great day!

Thanks for your reply, however, very disappointing as there are many user permissions that can be set on the desktop version and find it frustrating that this is not available on the online version. We will thus have to cancel our online subscription and revert back to the desktop version.

When, and if your engineers solve this, will I be notified?

I understand how you feel, @s_nieman.

When the feature is ready, our product engineers won't be able to send out notifications. The QuickBooks Online Feature Requests website, however, allows you to follow the progress of your feature request.

You can also add your vote to existing ideas. Here's how:

  1. Go to the QuickBooks Online Feature Requests website.
  2. Click Give feedback.
  3. Enter your idea.
  4. Click Vote after finding related posts.

If you opt to cancel your account, know that QBO will hold your data for up to one year. Make sure to download or export your information before doing this process. You can also pick up where you left off if you decide to come back.
