Question

Is anyone else having issues with updating basic profile information?

I was sent a link to update and after sending me through multiple rounds of "identification verification" it claimed it couldn't access the camera hardware in my phone. Is there no other way for me to complete this verification?

You'll need to allow camera permission in your device settings to complete the verification process. The prompt appears when the link is opened in an in-app browser that lacks hardware authorization.

To enable the permissions, follow these steps:

Android:

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Select Apps (or App Management), then choose QuickBooks Online. If you don't see it, tap See all apps.
  3. Click Permissions and then Camera.
  4. Set it to Allow.

iOS:

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Scroll down and click Apps, then select QuickBooks Online.
  3. Toggle the Camera switch to On (or select While Using the App).

You can also uninstall and reinstall the QuickBooks app to reset the system connections if the issue persists.

If you're using a mobile web browser, make sure the camera access is explicitly allowed. Once you've made these changes, verify your identity again.

Could you let me know which specific profile details you are attempting to update in your QuickBooks Online or Intuit account?
