Hi there, Jay14402. When multi-user connections are blocked, QuickBooks Desktop often crashes. This usually happens because your workstations cannot communicate with the company file on the host server.

To fix this, you need to ensure the QuickBooks Database Server Manager is installed and configured on your server.

Before starting, close QuickBooks on all systems.

1. Get the most recent version (1.6.0.8) of the QuickBooks Tool Hub. Save it to an easy-to-find location.
2. Open the downloaded file and follow the on-screen prompts to install and agree to the terms.
3. Once finished, double-click the QuickBooks Tool Hub icon on your Windows desktop. (If you don't see it, search for it in the Windows Start menu.

In QuickBooks, your server acts as the central hub where the company file is hosted, while the other connected computers function as workstations for daily tasks.

1. In the Tool Hub, select the Network Issues tab.
2. Select QuickBooks Database Server Manager. If QuickBooks isn't installed on your server, you will be prompted to install the manager component.
3. Inside the Manager, select Start Scan if your company file folders are listed. If they aren't, click Browse to locate the folders first.
4. The tool will automatically repair your firewall permissions. Once the scan is complete, select Close.

If network issues persist, use the File Doctor to repair the company files itself.

1. In the Tool Hub, select the Company File Issues tab.
2. Select Run QuickBooks File Doctor.
3. In the drop-down menu, choose your company file. If it’s not there, click Browse.
4. Select Check your Network and click Continue.
5. Enter your QuickBooks Admin password and select Next.
