Hello,

My company currently uses Enterprise Solutions 21 and received the notice about service ending on 5/31/24. What are my options? Is there another Enterprise Solutions or will we need to transition to QB Online?

Hello there, @Awood0510.

You're right about QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) 2021 discontinuation after May 31, 2024. It means that after the date mentioned, you'll no longer have access to live technical support if you run into problems or utilize any additional features inside the program. Also, please be aware that this includes QuickBooks Desktop Payroll, QuickBooks Desktop Payments, and online bank feeds. Discontinued versions won't receive the latest critical security patches and updates. For more details, please see this page: QuickBooks Desktop service discontinuation policy.

Upon carefully checking here on our end, Intuit's latest offering is the QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) 2024 version. If you wish to know more about the upgraded version of QBDT, we recommend visiting this handy article: What’s new in QuickBooks Desktop 2024.

In case you wish to transfer to QuickBooks Online (QBO) and don't want to upgrade to the latest version of QBDT, it's best to check this page to help you prefer for the migration: Move your QuickBooks Desktop file to QuickBooks Online.

@Awood0510

Log into your CAMPS and find the QB Desktop 2022-2024 licenses there. As long as your subscription is active, you are entitled to a new product code every year.

https://camps.intuit.com

Otherwise, you can purchase a new license of QB Desktop 2024 to upgrade your version thru selected partners and you will get a perpetual discount on renewals.

@4Gal  can you please clarify something for me? I currently have QB Desktop Pro Plus 2021 and it says service is ending 5/31/2024. However, I have a subscription paid through November, with the next billing date 11/14/2024 and my payroll service subscription is next due 09/14/2024.

You mentioned, "Log into your CAMPS and find the QB Desktop 2022-2024 licenses there. As long as your subscription is active, you are entitled to a new product code every year."

Do you mean that from the CAMPS site, I should be able to download QB Desktop Pro Plus 2024 and keep using my current paid-for subscription? Or do I have to purchase the desktop product?

Separately, I have read that we can continue to use our 2021 product without the payroll and online banking features. Can I do that without paying the annual subscription (if I let this 2021 product "run out?").

Thank you!

There's a lot of panic every May when Intuit's discontinuation emails go out, so here's the thing most people don't realize: when your QuickBooks Desktop version is "discontinued," the software keeps working. What stops is the connected services — payroll/tax tables,
bank feeds, Payments, online backup, and security patches. Opening your company file, entering transactions, running reports, printing, local multi-user — all of that keeps working, offline, indefinitely.

The dates, for anyone planning:
- 2022 (incl. Enterprise 22.0): services ended May 31, 2025
- 2023 (incl. Enterprise 23.0): services end May 31, 2026
- 2024: the final non-Enterprise release — no more Pro/Premier after it

Thanks for sharing that website. Hopefully, the site owner continues to maintain the information and download links for years to come. Rumor said that after September 2027, all non-Enterprise users will be forced to switch to Online or upgrade to Enterprise. Following that, the term of "2024" will be dropped, marking the end of their 3-year lifecycle policy. Let's see what actually happens next year.

For now, if anyone needs to renew their Desktop Plus licenses (including Enhanced Payroll and Enhanced Payroll for Accountants) at a competitive price, they should contact @Fiat Lux_ASIA . Just ensure they have access to the licenses as the Primary Contact in CAMPS. For instance, my client renewed a 1-user QBD Pro Plus license for $900. They will also have to pay the subscription fee in quarterly installments to let them reserve any option to switch anytime.
