Question

alternatives to qb

i would love to hear your alternative programs.  I know of a few but what are your favorite non-Quickbooks programs?  they probably will delete this...

QB price goes up continuously and the software gets worse with every so-called “update”.

If you do not require specific features, consider switching back to an older, non-subscription version of QB Desktop. Alternatively, you may want to compare Xero, FreshBooks, and Zoho. Keep in mind, however, that you might need to use a 3rd party service to convert your data. To minimize conversion costs, you could first convert your data into QB Desktop, and then start fresh within one of those three apps.

@jlong2 Personally, I find Xero pretty lightweight and easy to navigate than QBO. You get what you pay for but that’s a relative judgment. Premium is also cheaper than QBO Adv/Plus.

I find QBDT (non-subscription) the best bang for the buck for accounting needs. You may want to message @SIAB for this one.

For anything heavy for larger enterprises, I usually recommend the updated QBDT flavors.

For reference, I handle 3 clients that use Xero, QBO, and QBDT.
