Why am I getting this error now when none of my data in payroll and QB has changed?

This error occurs during an IIF import when a name in the file doesn't match the corresponding employee or vendor in your QuickBooks Desktop company file. This happens if the name was recently altered, merged, or marked as inactive.

To fix this, open your Employee Center or Vendor Center and ensure the names match your IIF file exactly. Also, check your inactive lists because QuickBooks treats inactive names as non-existent during an import.

Thank you. The names and data never changed in either file. They have always matched. The iif import just doesn't work anymore and gives the error now.

Since your names and data already match, you can import your file by selecting Import it for me. I'll fix it later within the Import Your File Method window.

This process allows QuickBooks Desktop to bypass the error message and automatically create a new, longer IIF file. Once done, import this newly created file using Import it for me. I'll fix it later as a workaround.
