I am using Quickbooks Desktop Pro 2017 with windows and Assisted payroll service.

After running the rebuild for the company file, it resulted "Error we couldn't fix", which is "Payroll Service Data", and "Error at line 3834 (New Local Payroll Item ID is out of Sync. Local ID is 26 - Server ID is 29).

What does this mean? and how can I fix this?

Hi there, mtaishi.

The errors you've encountered while opening or working in your QuickBooks Desktop are unrecoverable errors. The most common reasons why you get an unrecoverable error are:

  • Missing Windows or QuickBooks updates
  • Damage to your data
  • Computer issues
  • Program code needs repairing

To fix these errors, you can refer to this article: Unrecoverable error in QuickBooks Desktop. This provides different troubleshooting steps to resolve the issue.

I also suggest updating the latest payroll tax table to stay up to date. Please check this article to see the steps: Get the latest payroll tax table update.

For further assistance, I suggest contacting our QuickBooks Support Team. They have the tools to pull your account and investigate the cause of the issue.

  1. Press F1 to open the Help window.
  2. From the search icon, type Contact Support.
  3. Click Contact us at the bottom part.
  4. Give a brief description of your issue about exporting and click the Search button.
  5. You'll be routed with How to connect with a QuickBooks expert and you choose which one is best for you.
  • Ask the Community – allows you to post your question broadly so that a variety of experts can answer.
  • Message an Agent – Allows you to chat directly with a support agent.
  • Talk to a Specialist – Arranges a callback from a support agent.

Please check this article to see the latest changes, improvements, and fixes in QuickBooks Desktop Pro 2017: Recent changes, improvements, and fixes in QuickBooks Desktop 2017.

Please know that you're always welcome to post if you have any other concerns. Wishing you and your business continued success.

@mtaishi

Try open your data file on trial license of QB 2020. If the problem still persists, contact Support to fix it prior to May 31, 2020. If they couldn't fix it and suggested upgrading to QB 2020, consider a 3rd party file recovery service.
