Payroll payment update

How do I update the payment credit card for payroll services.  We have a new credit card.  I updated in the little gear icon.  It updated the online services, but payroll services still shows not active.

For security reasons, please do not share your credit card details in this public post. In addition to the steps Zack shared above, you can securely update your information directly through your Intuit Account. This ensures your billing details stay consistent across all your services.

To do this, log in to accounts.intuit.com or click your Profile icon within QuickBooks > Manage your Intuit Account. From there, navigate to Payment methods tab to either edit your current card or add a new one. While these updates are usually immediate, please allow up to 24 hours for the new information to fully sync with our system.


If you would like help with this process, you may contact our QuickBooks Online live support team to add your card details.

Keeping your card current ensures your subscription remains active so your employees’ paychecks and direct deposits go out on schedule without any delays.

If you subscribed to QuickBooks Payroll through QuickBooks Online, or on our website, you can update the billing details from your Subscriptions and billing screen.

 

Here's how:
 

  1. Sign in as the primary or company admin. For security purposes, only these users can update billing information.
  2. Use your Gear icon, then go to Subscriptions and billing.
  3. Click the Pencil (Edit) icon next to your payment method.
  4. Update the credit card info.
  5. Confirm your address in QuickBooks is identical to the one on your card's statement.
  6. Select Confirm card or Save.

 

In the event you subscribed through an app store, like Google Play (Android) or App Store (iOS), you'll need to update your billing details there. Detailed steps for doing so can be found in our Update billing info for your payroll subscription article.

Hi,

I'm having a similar issue with updating credit card information for QB subscriptions. We are billed for two services, QB online and QB payroll services.  I received the notice about billing (we have new cards) and updated through the gear as you suggested in the previous email.  I could see the prior billings for QB online services, but I didn't see anything about payroll.  A couple of days later I received the email about QB payroll services.  I can find anywhere to specifically update the credit card for payroll services.

If payroll is an add-on to your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account, both subscriptions share the same payment method. Thus, when you update your card information through the gear icon, it should apply to both services automatically.

 

Since you see previous billing records for QBO services but couldn't find any for payroll services, I recommend contacting our Live Support team. They can help verify the email you received and ensure correct billing details for both QBO and Payroll.

 

Here's how:

 

  1. Open QBO and navigate to the Help menu.
  2. Type "contact support" in the Search option.
  3. Click the Contact Us tab at the bottom.
  4. Enter the question, keyword, or topic you need help with.
  5. Follow the prompts, then choose a way to connect with an expert.

 

In case you log in to your payroll account separately, you're using a standalone payroll subscription with separate billing. In this case, it needs to be updated by logging in to that account and then through the gear icon.
