I am trying to set up a client for Direct Deposit. Quickbooks is asking for the principal officer's ssn but the individual does not have an SSN in order to set up the company's direct deposit. Does anyone have a solution to this in order to continue to set up the account?

Hi there, Ecabrerapc.

I understand the importance of working seamlessly. Allow me to provide clarification and assistance.

A Social Security Number (SSN) is one of the key requirements for setting up direct deposit in QuickBooks. Intuit mandates having an SSN on file to provide a personal guarantor who will be financially responsible for the account.

Since an SSN is necessary and you won’t be able to set up direct deposit without one, I suggest paying your employees with paper check in the meantime. This way, you can ensure they are paid on time.

If you still need further assistance, please don't hesitate to leave a post below.
