Hi, Enah. I can guide you on how to record a GST refund in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

First, review the GST return for the reporting period to locate the refund amount. Then, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to the All apps menu, then Tax.
  2. Select Overview.
  3. Review the GST return for the relevant reporting period.
  4. Click on Prepare return and make the necessary adjustments in Box 7.

  5. Fill out the needed information.
  6. Save after.

For more detailed information, you may check this article: Create or delete a GST adjustment in QuickBooks Online.

We recommend checking with your accountant first. They know the best way to record the refund and which accounts to use, preventing it from being misclassified as income or an expense.
