Downloading 2017

I have QB Pro 2020 I need to reinstall QB Pro 2017 for a client and it wont let me because I have other QB's on my computer do I have to take out QB 2020 first then reinstall both again?

You should not have a problem downloading 2017 from your intuit account and using the custom install option which should allow you to install 2017 beside 2018, 2019, 2020 and now 2021. If you chose express install you could not because express replaces the earlier ones and 2017 trying to override 2020 would fail

    Even though I said you should have no problem, the solution you suggested of uninstall of 2020, install 2017 and then 2020 again (side by side) will only cost you the time involved.

     

    As a matter of insurance I never delete old installs. Just remember you cannot open with 2017 any company file already opened by a newer version so you are limited to working with backups created with 2017

    I can show you where to find and download your QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) account, @Misty Blue. 

     

    You can find your registered QBDT account from the Products & Services section of the Customer Account Maintenance Portal (CAMPs). 

     

    To download the QBDT app:

    1. Log in to camps.intuit.com
    2. Look for the QBDT app or subscription in the Products & Services list.
    3. Click on Details.

     

    Refer to this article for more about managing your QuickBooks Desktop account and services from your Intuit account: Manage your QuickBooks Desktop subscriptions and services.

     

    After getting the installer for QBDT from the Downloads & Updates page, you can now install this to your PC:

     

    1. Locate the downloaded setup file on your computer. 
    2. Click to launch the setup.
    3. Follow the prompts to finish installing your QBDT.

     

    After that, activate your QBDT:

     

    1. Go to the Help menu and select Activate QuickBooks.
    2. Follow the prompts to finish installing your QBDT.

    Once done, you can now get started with QuickBooks Desktop and create a company file: Create a QuickBooks Desktop company file.

    Thank you for this.

     

    But after struggling for 2 hours to get into my account - there is no information of my version of quickbooks I bought. I will keep this article saved maybe I could sort out the problem.

    Once the company file is connected with the correct email address or it was registered under your Intuit account, you must get into your account with the information or data associated with your QuickBooks.
