If QuickBooks shuts down when you try to back up, try running the backup as administrator and checking the company file for errors. If the issue continues

I’m signed in as a administrator

Got it. Since you’re already signed in as an administrator, please try running the Verify Data tool in QuickBooks to check for any company file issues. If it finds an issue, run Rebuild Data and then try backing up the file again. If QuickBooks still shuts down, let me know what error or message you see.

To fix this, we will use the official QuickBooks Tool Hub to run a quick repair.

Here's how:

  1. Close QuickBooks Desktop.
  2. Download the most recent version of the QuickBooks Tool Hub and save it to your computer.
  3. Open the downloaded file (QuickBooksToolHub.exe) and follow the on-screen steps to install it.
  4. Once installed, double-click the QuickBooks Tool Hub icon on your Windows desktop to open the tool.

Refer to Step 2 in the article for detailed instructions on resolving the issue: Fix issues when QuickBooks has stopped working.

I have QB pro 19… I have used the tool hub and didn’t fix.. it also did it when I tried to save a invoice to pdf.. I get a message with a code ( 19688 84640 ) and then closes out.. the code has changed after I ran the tool hub..

@Smaydays Open the sample file and run the backup process. Did you encounter the same problem?
