Can't enter Inventory Items

I have QB online Simple Start.  I am attempting to set up Inventory Items that tie to Sales accounts.  But the system does not allow me to enter an item, nor import them.  Under Products and Services, I click on the Add an Item button, and it just sits there and does not respond. Niether will it allow importing - I select a file to import, and it does not populate the field with anything. I have this setting turned on: Show Product/Service column on sales forms.  Am I missing some other setting somewhere?

    The inventory management feature is only available in QBO Plus and Advanced. Keep in mind, the discounted rate is not applicable when upgrading your plan.

    Yes, inventory item is only available in QuickBooks Online Plus and Advanced version, gary0613.

    You didn't missed any settings, @gary0613. I'm here to make sure you can add an an item in your Product and Services.

     

    The stored cache can affect the performance of QuickBooks which can cause unexpected behavior.

     

    To begin, I'd suggest logging in to your QBO account via a private window. This doesn't use the existing cache files, which makes it a good place to determine if there's an issue with the browser. 

     

    Here are the keyboard shortcuts: 

     

    • Safari: Command + Shift + N 
    • Google Chrome: CTRL + Shift + N
    • Mozilla Firefox or Microsoft Edge: CTRL + Shift + P 

     

    Once signed in, try to click the Add item button. If it works, let's clear the cache of your browser. This helps remove its stored cache to improve the program's performance. Otherwise, I'd also recommend using different browsers

    Also, please note that you can only add non- inventory and services in QuickBooks Online Simple Start.     Sorry, none of this made any difference.  Incognito window did not help.  Clearing cache did not help.  Same behavior - Add an Item button is non-responsive, as is the import function.

     

    Starting to wonder if Simple Start version does not allow items?  Seems pretty basic to me.

     

    What next?
