Error Code 179 During Backup forcing Rebuild

Hello,

 

This has been an ongoing issue for years for me.  After incorporating an Accountant's Copy into my QB company file I get an Error 179 that forces a rebuild for my company file.  It is more of a nuisance than a serious issue.  I've attached a PDF of the error code explanation.  I have tried deleting and reinputting the transaction many times and that doesn't solve the issue.  Any help is greatly appreciated!

Let's get this error code sorted out, @SD Homecare.

 

Let's use the File Doctor to fix company file issues in QuickBooks Desktop. 

 

Here's how: 

  1. Close QuickBooks.
  2. Download and install the  QuickBooks Tool Hub.
  3. Follow the on-screen steps to install and agree to the terms and conditions.
  4. Once done, double-click the icon on your Windows desktop to open the tool hub.
  5. From the tool hub, choose Company File Issues.
  6. Click Run QuickBooks File Doctor. 
  7. In QuickBooks File Doctor, select your company file from the drop-down menu. If you don’t see your file, click Browse and search.
  8. Select Check your file and then click Continue.
  9. Enter your QuickBooks admin password and then select Next.

Make sure also to create a backup of your company file. This way, you have the option to restore your data in case you run into a problem.

 

If the troubleshooting steps didn't work, I highly recommend contacting our Phone Support Team. This way, they can further investigate this matter and create an investigation ticket if other users experiencing the same. They can also provide additional troubleshooting steps to get this resolved.

 

Here's how: 

  1. Open your QuickBooks.
  2. Select Help at the top, and then choose QuickBooks Desktop Help.
  3. Click Contact Us.
  4. Give a brief description of your issue and click Let's talk.
  5. Choose a way to connect with us.
