Finish Your Payment Customer Email

Two weeks ago, my customers started receiving emails after they open an invoice reminding them that they did not pay.  I contacted Quickbooks, and as usual they were first completely confused by a feature in their own software and took them a week to get back to me.  When they did, they stated this is a new feature and there is no option to turn it on or off.  Does anyone know if there is a way to turn these emails off?  Or is there a way to edit these emails as they are completely unprofessional?

This is not a reminder email.  I have those set and have zero issues.  This is appears to be a new feature rolled out with the typical zero thought Quickbooks gives to features.

When will this issue be resolved? This situation is becoming unacceptable.

We first began experiencing this problem approximately four weeks ago and contacted QuickBooks Support for assistance. Unfortunately, despite our efforts to resolve it, the issue continues.

Our invoicing process is very straightforward: we issue an invoice, which is delivered to the customer via email as a PDF attachment, and the customer mails us a paper check. There is no online payment process involved—no payment link is included in the email or PDF, and nothing in the process is digitized.

Despite this, our customers continue to receive these unnecessary automated emails. This is creating two significant problems: first, the messages are confusing customers because they imply an action or payment process that does not apply to them; second, the emails are being sent exactly three days after the invoice is received, which can come across as an aggressive or harassing payment reminder.

We need this behavior stopped. Please provide a clear explanation of why these emails are being generated, how they can be permanently disabled, and when we can expect this issue to be resolved.

This is creating a lot of issues for me with my clients. It pester them immediately after sending an invoice and it's ruining my DBAs as well.

Having the same issue. Went through Chat help, and they said they’ve added my accounts to the investigation… but no resolution yet.

Hello Fellow QBO People!

I just got off the an 1h and 45min call with QBO after a live chat...I got escalated to Tier2 then next to expert level.  I have a follow-up call on Friday to see if the “fix” that was suggested worked, so I don’t have proof yet, but wanted to share because I myself was (am) so frustrated with this.

I was told to turn Automatic invoice reminders off, then back on again - that the developers where doing some intentional beta work and that turning this off, then back on, should clear out whatever was/is causing this. It can’t hurt to try.

I will follow up and let you know after my call Friday afternoon. If anyone does try it, and your client(s) continue to receive these ridiculous emails, please let me/us know, too!

I will definitely try this and appreciate your post after your initial lengthy call and look forward to hearing about your follow up call on Friday.

that's super frustrating ngl. here's what you can try go to Settings > Account and Settings > Sales > Custom Form Styles, then edit your invoice template. sometimes these automated emails are tied to the template settings. also check under Settings > Notifications > Email Preferences to see if there's a toggle for payment reminders. if that doesn't work, try reaching out to QB's chat support instead of phone — they're usually quicker. also post on their community forum, other users might have found a workaround. hope this helps

PLEASE END THIS UNPROFESSIONAL AUTOMATED MESSAGE IMMEDIATELY!!

I have been aware of it since late July like most people here and enough is enough.  Besides coming off as harassment did we cover the fact that it also populates your email inbox with worthless, repetitive, unnecessarily duplicative useless redundancy?

**Cheers to all the small business owners out there! We’ll get through this like we always do!**

Quickbooks: Please turn off these email notifications immediately. They are completely inappropriate and damaging to client relations. I request affirmative confirmation by email From Quickbooks that this feature has been disabled for my company.

This is completely unacceptable and ridiculous. I also arrived at this page after researching this. I do NOT want QuickBooks emailing people without my permission. It looks unprofessional.
