How do you catergorize donations within Quickbooks?

Your mission to make a positive impact on our environment is highly appreciated, Everythingtrees. It's crucial to ensure that your contributions are properly categorized. Let me discuss the specifics below.

To begin with, donations are categorized as an expense in QuickBooks Online (QBO) , specifically under Charitable Contributions. However, if you're using QuickBooks Self Employed (QBSE), it's important to note that QBSE doesn't include this type of donation as other expense based on Schedule C. Therefore, I recommend consulting with your accountant for further guidance on how to effectively track these donations.

Additionally, I'll share this article to learn more about Schedule C categories and how they appear on your financial reports: Schedule C and expense categories in QuickBooks Self-Employed.
