Question

K1 K1 Reference Number ?

We seem to have a new box which we’ve not noticed before until today. What is this ‘K1 Reference Number’ field on the bill form? And how do we turn it off as it’s unnecessary clutter.

The K1 Reference Number connects the dots between a partner's out-of-pocket spending and their final tax return. Think of it as an audit trail in a single field. By tagging an expense to a specific partner right when it happens, you instantly secure the deduction and eliminate year-end panic over missing receipts.

Leaving it blank won't mess up your books, cause any errors, or affect your reports at all. Since it really is just extra clutter, you can send your feedback directly to our product development team by following these steps:

  1. Click the gear icon at the top of your screen.
  2. Select the Feedback option.
  3. Type in your comments and hit Submit.

But what is it for? I have never heard of a K1 reference. Also, why did I post this in the UK section and is it now in the USA section of the forums. This has been going on since the new forum was rolled out.

Come on get the basic working before introducing K1 References boxes which no one seems to know what they are for!
