Question

new document "pop-out" feature

I find many of the recent UI changes to be unnecessary with zero functional benefit and cause efficiency and usability issues.  Specifically, the new document "pop-out" feature—which appears in the foreground without a border and cannot be moved—offers no functional benefit. It introduces workflow problems without resolving any existing ones.   Can anyone explain what benefit this feature was meant to offer and can it be turned off in settings?

The document pop-out feature is designed to help users multitask by allowing documents to be viewed in a separate window. This makes it easier to switch between tasks without losing progress in the original tab. Currently, there is no option to turn off this feature.

I was not referring to opening documents in a separate window, but rather to how a document appears in the foreground of an existing page view. It appears without a border, covers only part of the page, and cannot be moved. Because the overlay lacks a border, the text from the document overlaps the background text, causing the two text strings to run together. This creates visual confusion. Furthermore, since no functions on the background page can be used anyway, having the document overlay only part of the screen is pointless and simply makes the interface look glitched.
