Question

Picking labels

I need to print picking labels to attach to the product as it is picked. We are a cabinet company and our orders consist of multiple large boxes. It seems that i should be able to print picking labels from a sales order directly to my Zebra label printer but I don't see how.

Hello there, Chriscook5.

I'd like to help and make sure you print those labels.

You can easily select and print labels for your customers in QuickBooks Desktop.

Here's how:

  1. Go to File at the top menu.
  2. Choose Print Forms.
  3. Click on Labels and select the labels you want to print.
  4. Click OK and set the Settings tab.
  5. Hit the Print button.
  6. Click the Options button.
  7. In the Label Format, you may choose any label you want to use.

I'm adding this article for more tips and guides in printing labels: Print shipping labels in QuickBooks.

I want to make sure I've got you covered. Let me know if you still have other questions about labels. I'll be here to help. Have a nice week!

Hi Archie. It doesn't help it all. Not sure why you replied. My question has nothing to do with the labels available in that menu.

Hi Chriscook5,

I'd like to add information about printing labels.

You can print labels using the steps below. However, I can't guarantee that you can print it on Zebra printers since we don't have any documentation about it. If you have the printer, just try printing a sample label and see if QuickBooks can detect it.

  1. From the File menu.
  2. Choose Print Forms and then select Labels.
  3. In the Name field, select one customer for testing purposes and click OK.
  4. In the Printer name drop list, select your Zebra printer.
  5. Select a Label Format and click Preview.
  6. If it looks good, click Print.

Let me know if you have any other questions about printing labels in QuickBooks Desktop. Have a good one!

These are the threads that make my head hurt.  Everyone seems to want the same simple thing and yet either QB can't do it or the employees responding don't know enough about QB to properly answer the questions.  I think the employees would be much better suited if they actually used quickbooks to do tasks and could see all of the issues.  Anyway, back to the question...

When you go into Sales Order Fulfillment Worksheet, select the sales order you want to fulfill and then choose send for picking, send for packing or exp pick-pack, you should be able to select the item or items and print the labels for them.  Real simple concept, every other software does it.  QB seems like it is supposed to do it, but it got broken or lost somewhere.
