QB 2019 Pro Desktop Version Microscopic Fonts

My operating system was corrupted and I had to have it uninstalled and reinstalled, losing all software.  I reinstalled QB Pro 2019 by download.  Now, when I run QB, the font size on all screens is microscopic, making it nearly unusable.  How can I enlarge them?  Thanks for any help!

I'd like to offer my help and get your and make your software usable again, Old Retired Jim non IT Guy.

At the moment, there's no tool or button to adjust the overall font style in QuickBooks Desktop. However, there are external troubleshooting steps in your computer that can increase or decrease the font size in the program.

Let me share these steps with you:

  1. Close QuickBooks.
  2. Go to My Computer and open your Drive C.
  3. Look for Program Data Folder and double click on it.
  4. Click Intuit and look for QuickBooks 2019
  5. Select QBW.INI.
  6. Below the [FONTS], press Enter and type this: FontName=Arial (or any font of your choice) FontSize=12.5 (or any size of your choice).
  7. Click File and select Exit.

Once done, close the folder and reopen your company file in QuickBooks. Then, check if the font sizes are now back to normal.

Good morning...sorry for the late response.  I was able to complete Steps 1-4 of your suggestion, but at Step 5 I couldn't see QBW.INI.  I only saw qbw.  However, clicking on that led me to the exact file that your screen shot displayed (with items beginning with [Install_New].  Once there, I saw no line item for [FONTS], so I inserted a line between the = sign at the top of the list and the line item [INPRODREGISTRATION], and typed [FONTS] myself.  Then below that I entered the font name and font size as you suggested.  Sadly I could not get the microscopic print in QB to change.  I would appreciate any guidance...and I will respond quickly this time!  Thank you so much....

I appreciate you getting back in to this thread, Jim. I've come to ensure you'll get the assistance you need.

Beforehand, can you share a screenshot of what's happening on your end when editing the QBW file you've entered? It would help me check and clarify the items you've typed in.

To increase the font size in QuickBooks, please make sure you've followed the exact format shown on the screenshot shared by my colleague, jenop2, above. You'll need to enter the FontName=Arial line item below the [FONTS] line. Then, press enter and type FontSize=12.5.

Here's how:

  1. Open the QBW file.
  2. Below the [FONTS] line, type FontName=Arial and press enter.
  3. Type FontSize=12.5. (Refer to the screenshot provided above)
  4. Click on the File menu and select Save.
  5. Once done, click Exit from the File menu to close.
  6. Then, open QuickBooks as an Admin to refresh the changes entered.

Moreover, you can check out this article to guide you with other display issues when doing tasks inside your desktop account: Fix screen issues in QuickBooks Desktop.

You're always welcome to reply in this thread if you have additional questions. We'll be right here, willing to help. Have a good one!
