QB Time and Gusto Import

Found the connector but wished that we would have known that we would have to upgrade to Enterprise.  Although we like the Gusto app and service, it would have been less time-consuming to use QB payroll, host QB in a cloud server, and upgrade QB so that all the consultants could log in hours that would expense directly to the appropriate jobs/projects.  Not only that but the project managers could also use the estimates and job reports to gauge their progress and make changes as necessary to meet the budget. 

My summation of this fiasco for us is a comparison to Microsoft.  We tried to use other project planning and CRM software - i.e. Trello, Zoho, Monday, Asana but ultimately ended up going back to Microsoft to be able to use the Teams functions like video calls/chat instead of Zoom.  Like with Intuit, the integrations/crossovers are usually insufficient and can be more costly to implement or manage than just sticking with the 'big boy'.

I suspect that eventually Intuit will just buy out these other apps and connectors...or hire away their talent or the like to create a seamless, user-friendly experience such as Microsoft has been forced to do. Until then, Intuit needs to step up its sales training to pre-empt this situation, especially, if they don't want to lose their clients to Oracle. 

This does not help me.  You need to clarify that QB Time only works with Gusto if using QB online version.  Gusto does not easily import into desktop versions.  The only thing we have been able to work on now is mapping an IIF file to record the payroll expenses or otherwise record a general journal transaction. But, this is a complicated accountant function and not at all what we wanted based on what was proposed to be a user-friendly integration. Instead, we find this misleading and resulting in a very time-consuming effort to find a solution now that we have already signed up with Gusto.

We got the run around from Gusto saying to contact Intuit and vice versa.  But I finally got a hold of an Intuit rep who was familiar with a possible workaround. However, it requires the Enterprise QB version AND a third-party app to fully integrate the timesheet hours and projects on Gusto into QB. In other words, desktop version users should be warned that they will not be able to fully integrate Gusto timesheets into QB unless they upgrade to Enterprise and purchase the third-party app.
