Is there a way to do a backup (qbb file) for specific dates only?

No, but you can create a copy of your file and then use the Condense feature on it to create a "period copy", a file that only has transactions from a specific date range, and then you can back that file up.

Thank you for this information.  Does this file copy contain a full backup, including all accounting, customers, invoices, payments etc..?  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

@Nikki3006 Yes. You need the backup file for an audit purpose, correct?

Thanks for asking the Community today, @NewHudsonInn

You can create a portable company file if you don't need a full backup and just want to move your accounting data. You can describe the backup task you want to schedule.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the File menu, then click Switch to Single-user Mode.
  2. Go to the File menu again and hover over Back up Company
  3. Select Create Local Backup, then select Local Backup and then Next.
  4. Select Browse, then select where you want to save your backup company file in the Local Backup Only section.
  5. In the Online and Local Backup section, select Complete verification to run a test to enure your backup file is in good shape before you save.
  6. Select OK, then click Save it now and schedule future backups.
  7. Click Next. Or if you don't want to save a backup now, select Only schedule future backups.
  8. Set your schedule, select OK. When you're ready to create your backup, click Finish.

You now have a backup company file from which you can restore your company file. This file's name includes the extension.qbb.

Keep in touch if you have additional concerns with your backups. I'll be here to guide you some more.
