Quickbooks Desktop Pro

Hi, we have Quickbooks Desktop Pro 19.  We recently quit using the payroll services and have that done by a payroll company now, but our subscription is still valid until September.  My questions are:

1) should I keep doing the payroll updates?  I got some payroll error when I logged in today so I updated payroll and it seems fine now.

2) I got a message that we need to upgrade our Quickbooks...we currently have 2019.  So I still need to do that, correct?  Even without using the payroll part.  Basically we just use it to pay bills, record deposits, reconcile the bank, and financial reports.

Thank you for the help!

Good evening, @rhowie

It's great to see you back in the Community. Allow me to share some insight into our subscription and services details for QuickBooks Desktop and Payroll.

Yes, you should keep doing the payroll updates if you'd like to review any information or even run payroll within your payroll services. Here's an article that can provide some additional guidance on payroll updates: Get the latest payroll tax table update

We always recommend to upgrade your QuickBooks Desktop to the latest release so the system will work properly without any glitches or errors that may occur. Check out this link to upgrade your product: Upgrade QuickBooks Desktop Pro Plus, Premier Plus, or Enterprise

I hope this helps answer all of your questions. Feel free to come back if you have any other concerns. Happy Thursday!

@Candice14

Our payroll service will end in September.  So keep doing the updates until then?

Thank you!

Your concern ends here, @rhowie.

Yes, you still need to keep doing the payroll updates to stay compliant with the calculation and get the full functionality of payroll.

Please let me know if you need clarification about this, or there's anything else I can do for you. I'll be standing by for your response, @rhowie.

@rhowie

You won't be able to use the bank feeds nor import *.qbo files after May 2022. You can use a 3rd party app as a workaround to do so. Otherwise, purchase a one time license for QBD 2021 or a subscription license for QBD 2022 Plus to upgrade your version.
