Question

ACH option not showing when emailing invoice.

Running Desktop Enterprise 24.0 fully updated.

Within the last few weeks, the option to pay via ACH is not showing when emailing invoices.

I created a test invoice, and I am getting the same result as a real invoice sent to clients.

Any would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Good Morning aaronmp,

Thanks for connecting with the QuickBooks Community! I will do my best to get that ACH payment option showing up for you.

First, let’s confirm that ACH is checked within your invoice settings:

  1. Open the specific invoice and look at the Online Payments section at the top.
  2. Ensure both Credit Card and ACH Bank Transfer are checked.
  3. If you need to turn them on company-wide, go to Customers > Add/Edit Multiple List Entries, or verify your QuickBooks Payment dashboard is active.
  4. Run a test and see if any changes occur.

Sidenote, if you recently updated your invoice templates, the payment link could be missing due to format changes. If so could you try reverting to the Intuit Standard Invoice template to verify.

Second, let’s reset the WebMail Preferences. If QuickBooks caches incorrect data regarding webmail or the email client, payment links can fail to generate in the email body.

  1. Go to Edit > Preferences > Send Forms.
  2. Click the Web Mail option (or Outlook, depending on your setup) and click Edit.
  3. Remove your email account and click OK.
  4. Re-add your webmail or Outlook account.
  5. Run a test invoice once again to confirm changes.

Third, let’s disconnect and reconnect your payment account. Refreshing your Merchant Service connection forces QuickBooks to pull the latest online payment features from Intuit servers.

  1. Go to the Customers menu and select Link Payment Service to Company or go through Account and Settings if prompted.
  2. Reconnect your QuickBooks Payments account. Sign out of the company file, close QuickBooks entirely, and sign back in to test.

If neither of those resolves it, let me know which steps you tried and what you're seeing! We will certainly dig deeper from there. See you soon!

I am not seeing the Online Payments from the invoice. Selecting the penile icon next to Customer Payment I do see ACH is checked.

Removing the email address and adding it back in did not make a difference.

When I click on the Link Payment Service I get an error page can’t be reached.  Screenshot attached.

I logged out of the account Center and back in, no change.

One thing that has popped up for I think longer than the problem has been going on. When I click on the Email in the invoice a Level 3 Data Processing dialog box pops up.

I am not seeing the Online Payments section, but if I click on the pencil next to customer payment, ACH is checked.

I removed my email from the send forms area and re-added it, still no change.

When I click on the link payments service to company, I get an error message, cannot reach this page. Attached.

I also logged out of the account center and back in, and it appears to be active.

I appreciate you trying those steps and sharing the details. Since you've already tried the standard troubleshooting, the next best move is to use the QuickBooks Tool Hub to repair any underlying data issues and restore the missing ACH option.

Here’s how:

  1. Close QuickBooks Desktop completely.
  2. Download the latest version of the QuickBooks Tool Hub and save it to your Downloads folder or Desktop.
  3. Open the downloaded file and follow the on-screen steps to install it.
  4. Once installation is complete, double-click the QuickBooks Tool Hub icon on your Desktop to open it.
  5. Go to the Company File Issues tab and run Quick Fix My File or QuickBooks File Doctor to address common data issues. If you need further assistance, select File Dr Help.

Feel free to return if you have follow-up questions.

@aaronmp

Thank you for walking through all of those troubleshooting steps, from resetting your webmail preferences to running the QuickBooks Tool Hub. It takes time to go through all of that, and since the ACH option is still missing and throwing a connection error, we want to make sure this situation gets the attention it needs.

We've passed your case directly to our Next Level Help team. An expert will carefully review your Community comments, the error messages you noted, and your overall support history to get a complete picture of what's happening. You can expect to hear from them within 1-2 business days regarding the next steps.
